Crikey! that's some strike

The strike is likely to result in many Hollywood films either being delayed or cancelled and tv series being axed or shortened, same for streaming services.
Other unions are giving their support and will not be crossing picket lines. For instance the union known as the Teamsters who drive vehicles have given their support. So the impact is much more immediate than one might think.

I note that "23 Paces to Baker Street" (1956) is on Film Four this afternoon at 4.30, American film made in London starring Van Johnson as a blind playwright who overhears a criminal plot about extortion and kidnapping. Decent thriller. Despite the title, not a Sherlock Holmes film.

Might record that as it looks good 👍

Films are always so much more suspensful if a character is blind

One of the more unusual local traditions in Gloucester, the making of a lamprey pie for special royal events.
Lampreys were not used this time which is just as well as they are an endangered species. They aren't eels bu look a bit like them. In the past they could be found in the river Severn.

Mention is made of the National Star College. That's a college a few miles away and provides post-16 education for those with disabilities or brain injuries.
