Morning everyone, not a good night I'm afraid I kept waking up coughing, I think my sinuses are clearing, most annoying.

I have never seen a Zorse but I have seen a Zedonk, part Zebra part Donkey, I think it was in Colchester Zoo.

I was very moved by the sad story of Henrietta and her unfortunate demise and also the tale of the disappearing rabbit.  Quite 'citing this thread innit?

Squiggle, I hope your sinuses clear up soon, I know only too well what's that like

On Wiki, I found this photo of a zorse:

and this of a zonkey or zeedonk:

What none of us have ever seen because it has been exitinct for well over 100 years is a type of zebra called the quagga. This is a photo from 1870:

As you can see only the front part has zebra stripes.

I've just returned from the monthly coffee morning in the church hall and whilst there I bought a home baked lemon drizzle cake. I don't think it's the same as the one you baked the other day as I don't think there's any lemon buttercream in it. I hope yours was a success.

Lucky you El, it's one of my favourite cakes.

Mine was quite successful, although I think the family were kind in their comments, as it was my first baking attempt in my new oven.

I'm thinking of making some chocolate brownies tomorrow, I'll let you know how they turn out.

Oh dear EL no wonder the quagga died out, it looks a very confused animal

Good luck with brownies Yogi, its always difficult to get used to baking in a new oven, I still can't get my favourite fruit cake quite right since I had to ditch my lovely oven when I moved down here because it didn't fit in the gap.

Edited to say, thank you so much everyone for your good wishes for me, I seem to have fuzzy head syndrome this morning and I should have said it before, it is much appreciated.  I loved this thread because it is so caring

Squiggle, thanks for pointing that film out to us. Betty White is a phenomenon - she's still a busy actress on television. I remember seeing her in the Mary Tyler Moore show back in the mid 70s and she has been in television shows consistently since 1953. A mere 89 years old. I think the only film actress who can beat her in longevity was Lillian Gish who started in 1912 and made her last film in 1987 at the age of 94, but she was not at busy as Betty White in her later years.

In terms of actors the longest career must be Mickey Rooney's. He started in 1926 and is still working after 85 years, though the vast majority of his films nowadays are ones I've never heard of, though he is in the Muppets film currently being made. Of course his career is that long because he started off at the age of 6 and he seems to be one of those actors who is prepared to appear in anything.

I'm still coughing Skylark but thank you for asking, I am not risking church in the morning its embarrassing when you cough in the service and its that horrible irritating tickly cough.

I too wish they would repeat The Golden Girls, I am sure we would all enjoy seeing it again and it might even reach a whole new audience. Who has contacts in the TV industry and could suggest the idea?

Is Keira missing Harvey Yogi or is she glad of a rest? Glad you have had a nice quiet day, all that painting and baking you need it.

That show sounds very good Skylark, proper old fashioned entertainment.
