@slimfern the main film of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel for the coming week is on Thursday afternoon "You Only Live Once" (1937). A very good film but gloomy, loosely based on the exploits of Bonnie and Clyde, It's regarded as an early classic pre-nor film.
Film was directed by Fritz Lang. It was the next film he made after "Fury" which is regarded as his best American film.
Film's leads are Sylvia Sidney who had been in "Fury" and Henry Fonda. YOLO can be regarded as Fonda's first heavyweight serious film.

Nast accident on Eastern Avenue in Gloucester this morning with a 10 year old cyclist and a car. The boy has sustained serious injuries.

Eastern Avenue does have cycle lanes on the pavements on both sides of the road. In the first photo the pavement is where the two men are standing.

A terrible thing to happen

It begs the question, should a 10 year old be riding on such busy roads?

I've been down that road many times over the years and can't recall ever having seen a cyclist on the road. I'ts a 40 mph dual carriage way and always very busy. That's why there are cycle lanes on the wide pavements all the way along both sides of that road with provision at the traffic lights for  them and pedestrians crossing.

At that time of the day he may have been on his way to school
