Sounds a bit brutal...too much for me do you think El?

I saw the released version many many years ago and the longer version years ago. The film has moderate violence which is to be expected,  Film is about good versus evil. Heston is the Mexican Chief of Narcotics on honeymoon with his American wife Leigh. They are caught up in an incident on the border between the two countries. Welles is the idolised police captain but that's a facade.
The evil is obviously the Mexican drug pushers. But Hank Quinlan (Welles) is evil.

Yes, there is violence but it didn't strike me as excessive and the film is in black and white. It has a 12 certificate for moderate violence and for scenes showing some people smoking marijuana. Originally released with an A certificate rather than an X .

The cinematography is outstanding, the film is one of the best film noirs of all time. Marlene Dietrich's role is small but is important.

Although the Virgin Media email server was having problems yesterday that seems to have been in various regions rather than everywhere.
I didn't get any suspect emails yesterday

No surprises there then El

My emails have gone into overdrive these past few days due to having done a fair bit of Christmas shopping online...drives me nuts a bit. I always untick the box asking if I want offers etc sent but it doesn't stop the companies from sending them

I wonder if any of you with Apple devices would be prepared to repair one if it broke down:

Moonie gets out his mallet

Keeping my mallet well and truly in my tool box

I wouldn’t attempt to repair my iPhone/iPad El

I change them usually when the batteries need charging to often but “touch wood” I have never had the need to get one repaired, so far. Now if that isn’t tempting fate,I don’t know what is

I have two secondhand laptops and if they need repairing I know a guy who I have known for more than a decade who repairs laptops and now iPads at a very reasonable cost

Got recorded phone call from the "bank security department" about ÂĢ300 Amazon payment and ÂĢ1,100 international payment on my card this morning. Obviously a scam, same as ones I've had before. Oddly enough, the phone number displayed was supposedly a local call as no dialling code.

Just had the identical phone call again from a supposedly local call with no area code . Obviously a scam and as it happens my bank branch is in a different town where I used work so if it really was my bank the number would have that town's area code

Looked up the number online. Some said it was genuine but some said it was a scam

Unless you were expecting a phone call from British Gas, I think it most likely to have been a scam.
Phone calls I've had from people claiming to be British Gas are mainly unregulated energy consultants trying to con people into thinking that their electricity contract is up for renewal and so they need to take out a new one. Those are targeting small businesses rather than individuals and I know it;s a scam as they refer to my business name and I only have a residential tariff.
Rarely I get calls saying that they've had technical problems and need my meter numbers - that's attempted fraud as they would go on to say they need bank details as well.

There are email and text scams around about the energy rebates and there have been warnings about those. I haven't had any of those.
