Morning troops

Hope we're all rank and file. Salutes

Stands to attention and Salutes back

All's well here, just rather busy with client work. Currently emailing someone about the differences with the tax treatment between HP agreements and finance lease agreements which is one of the areas where confusion rules

I heard yesterday that snow is on the way El

It's likely to get more wintry as December goes on, first snow in this area may be on the 13th. Much depends as to what happens with the high pressure build up in Scandinavia blocking warmer/wetter weather getting here from the Atlantic. It's uncertain as to how long that will last which is why the forecasts may change.

Glad you're busy El Gran Senor

I wanna get you in a tea room and hear what you really think.

There's a nice one in Southport - Think it's called Kensington, a real throwback. Lord Street. I like Southport

I used to have a client who had the idea of setting up a tea room locally but that never happened as she married and moved to Clevedon

Took us forever to get snow last year ...everyone else had it

The humidity locally has been 96° all morning as a result of it being a cold foggy day

96 degrees in the shade. Third World. We used to have so many good bands. They were usually around Moons. UB40 were off the scale when they first came out. Big up the Midlands.

In other news I fancy a `holiday. Bit tricky with no passport

You probably know that they came up with that name from the unemployment benefits form 40

Bit tricky, getting away to another country with no passport

Got back from shopping in one piece

If you are out on the roads today take greater care than normal as there are some dangerous drivers around,
The most dangerous was the van driver who pulled out from the lay-by on the dual carriageway bypass without paying attention in front of me forcing me to do a near emergency brake from 60 mph (70 mph speed limit) to 40 mph to avoid going in to him. (That is exactly the same stretch of road when there was a fatality some weeks ago where a young man crashed into a stationery lorry on the lay-by).

Good job you was alert El

Sometimes you wonder what their thinking is for doing something that stupid and dangerous

Slim, not much of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week. The 1959 film "Anatomy of a Murder" is on Wednesday evening, it's been shown on television before from time to time. A good film with James Stewart as a defence lawyer in his most serious film. Regarded as quite a daring film at the time, not a pleasant film and long.

Slim, tonight's film noir on the Sky Arts channel at 9pm is "This Gun for Hire" (1942) noted for being Alan Ladd's breakthrough film and the first of his films with Veronica Lake. It's good but not outstanding.

Next Sunday they have "Touch of Evil" (1958) Charlton Heston, Janet Leigh and Orson Welles as an utterly corrupt police captain. It was directed by Orson Welles and is regarded as his best film after "Citizen Kane". Marlene Dietrich is also in the film. Hopefully, they are showing the restored version. The film was released at 95 minutes, the alternate version at 108 minutes and the restored version at 111 minutes. Those are the cinema running times and on television they would be at 24/25th of those figures.

Don't recall seeing 'Touch of Evil' though, may well give that one a go...if I remember it's on

Thanks again El
