Prefer this one from that film El

Have to say though...I liked Jane Powell in 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' much better
Loved that film...
My brother was named after Russ Tamblyn, who btw is the only cast member still alive today.

I agree with you that "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" is a much better musical

I think the latter part of Russ Tamblyn's film career is not good and best to remember him for his films of the 50s and early 60s

He said it took months of painstaking work

His sculpture work does look great though.

The sculptor had been working on this for about a year alongside experts at the Royal Mint. It isd likely that the same image will be used on all future coins during the time of the King;s reign.  So it wold have taken a lot of time to get it just right. I think it's reasoable to assume that this was done with the consent of the Queen and the then Prince of Wales though would not have been made public knoiwledge.

image looks good but reminds me of  -king George V1

I can see what you mean though the familial similarity is enhanced by the heads on their coins both looking to the left. Long standing tradition for coins that the direction of the head alternates between left side and tight side of the face each time there's a new monarch.

'Singing in the Rain' is on BBC2  just before 3 this afternoon El

It's hard to think of that film without remembering Morecombe and Wise's sketch

"Singin' in the Rain" is of course a film I've seen many times and has never been bettered

The idea of the film came from the song of that name which was written in 1929. It was first used in an MGM film called "The Hollywood Revue of 1929" which was more of a showcase for MGM rather than a film.
"Singin' in the Rain" in that film can be seen on Youtube but in comparison to the Gene Kelly film, it's dreadful.
If you really want to watch it it's:
