Is the female supposed to be the Baroness or Maria?

Maria
That clip would have been filmed years after the original so to be fair to Theodore Bikel, here's the same song from a record made much closer to 1959.

The young actor who played the part of Rolf Gruber a telegraph delivery boy in that original Broadway production was replaced during its 4 year run. He sings the duet with Liesl "Sixteen going on Seventeen" The young man who replaced him was none other than Jon Voight, years before he went into films.

I was commenting more on looks rather than voice El
Christopher Plummer wasn't really known for his singing voice was he

John Voight (father of Angelina Jolie) is a very good actor

Slimfern, not much on the Talking Pictures tv channel during this coming week of note. The only Laurel & Hardy film is the most famous short they made, The Msuic Box.

There's a couple of minor British films. On Thursday at 12.20 there's "The Weapon" (1956) about a boy who finds a murder weapon from 10 years previously. It's one of those films with a mix of British  (Herbert Marshall & George Cole) and American (Steve Cochran & Lizabeth Scott) actors. The boy was played by Jon Whiteley who was a very popular child actor in this country until Hayley Mills came along,
On Friday at 10.50 am there's "A Boy, A Girl and a Bike" (1949) Comedy/romance/drama set at a bicycle club in Yorkshire which becomes the centre of some illegal activity. An early film role for Honor Blackman and for Diana Dors, one of them is the goodie, one the baddie - no prizrs for guessing which is which.
