Although I can hear sirens in the distance, so obviously there is some activity going on somewhere nearby
Our rain has stopped....for now
A couple of years ago I could hear from my house the unmistakeable sound of an air-raid siren (as in WW2). Went on from quite a long time. I never found out where it was coming from.

It wasn't during the 'Cold War' was it El?

I think it was for both during WW2 and the cold war though I associate it with WW2 due to hearing it on many films
For those of you who remember Tony Hancock, one of his radio episodes of his Hancock's Half Hour has been discovered. Dates back to 1955 from the first series, the episode is called "The Marriage Bureau" and it also has Peter Sellers in it. Radio 4 will broadcast it on the 18th,

Moonie, what's happening with your team, they seem to be struggling at present
Cheltenham, after a poor start to the season, have been having a better time recently though have got a tough away match on Saturday.

Hi El
As you say, we are having a poor season so far
We need a new manager El. Steve Bruce has passed his âuse by dateâ
The problem is, who would we replace him with? Who would want to do the job?
But it needs to be done sooner rather than later
If not, I see relegation looming
But on a happier note, Cheltenham are on the up
Good luck Saturday El

I think Cheltenham will need good luck to get a good result on Saturday I dont' know the situation with Alfie May who is a key player for Cheltenham. He was stretchered off on Saturday with what could be a serious ankle injury, they were waiting for the results of a scan. Last season he scored half of Cheltenham's goals.

Letâs hope the scan has a good outcome. Sounds like he is your goal scoring machine

The latest I heard was that he would be out for 8 to 10 weeks so not back before December. They hoping that he won't need surgery. That would make it a much longer period.

No specific news re Alfie May's injured ankle other than he's wearing a supporting boot for the time being and the intention is that in a week's time it will come off so that the injury can be re-assessed

We're in a Jaffa cake realm here....
Have to say though, that picture says more biscuit than cake/marshmallow imo.
TBH, I've never understood how a chocolate cake is non vatable as opposed to a chocolate biscuit

The fairly well known Jaffa VAT case Were Jaffa biscuits biscuits (vatable) or cakes (not vatable?
There's a webpage of the HMRC internal VAT manual about this case. It's probably the only page in HMRC's manuals which is of interest to the genral public:
