Good morning everyone

At squiggle's suggestion, this is the clip I posted yesterday.

As a result of him running this race within the cut-off time limit he has qualifies for the coming World Championships where he will run in both the 400m and 400 m relay events for South Africa. He is also likely to be in next year's Olympics.

As an aside, he happens to be a double amputee and is the first person ever to qualify for the major able-bodied athletics events.

I hope this is a safe morning for you all and for all your loved ones.  I will deliberately not say it is a good morning because with the current problems this is not a good morning for anyone

I was pondering last night what the authorities could do, I really don't know, water cannon, tear gas, spray them with a dye so that they could be identified later?  I don't know what the answer is but I do know we have to find a way to stop and isolate these thugs and make them pay a high price for their terrorising and looting.

Sorry to be so downbeat, catch you later.

Morning everyone.    As Squiggle says I won't add "good" to that!!  Such terrible things are happening and they must be stopped as soon as possible.

Glad to be back in our little thread.  I don't know why the page keeps going funny like that.  Don't suppose we will ever find out the reason.

It's much sunnier here today and the wind has dropped considerably.  Off to the shops.  Will speak to you all again later.  Love to everyone and their families.  Please stay safe wherever you are.

Joyron

I have a suspicion that yesterday's problem was caused by me and Yogi copying me by posting the HTML code in the text of a reply. Although my Firefox browser doesn't have a problem, and it doesn't seem to cause me a problem when I look at the page using IE, it is possible that it causes Chrome a problem. I was just trying to explain something to Yogi and I'm sorry if that was the cause of the problem.

I am editing the text of the posts I made to delete the problem parts, rather than delete the post itself so we don't affect the number of posts, and if Yogi can do the same with her posts (posted yesterday at 11.12 and 12.13) , then it may clear up that problem.

Once we have both done that, can either Skylark or Joyron have a look at page 260 to see if it is now OK.

El Loro

hi everyone x
No need to apologise El, these things happen. Page 260 is still stretched , but it doesnt really matter now as we are on a new one  xx
Thanks for posting the vid, El, my son was telling me about this man . He is such an inspiration, isnt he.  When we see whats been going on the last days and then someone like this who has achieved so much through sheer determination , it actually makes me feel angry that these young, fit healthy youths are hell bent on destroying peoples lives and property.
Going off before i get right on my soap box . Will be back later

I've deleted those posts if Skylark or Joyron want to look at Page 260.

Sorry folks, it was all my fault.

I love pancakes, so many delicious things you can have with them.

Spent the morning catching up on some housework and ironing - pretty boring.

Going to get my hair cut later this afternoon.

Assuming that it was my and Yogi's posts which caused the problem, it is a bit scary to think that typing < followed by the eigth letter of the alphabet and a one followed by a > could have that effect.

I'm not about to try it out to see if that's right

Step away from the keyboard, El.

Afternoon everyone.    El Loro I just looked back at the last page and it's fine now.  As you say it's amazing what a few typed characters can do!!

I'm afraid to say I've had to stop watching the news as I find it really upsetting.  I feel so much for all those poor people who have had their lives turned upside down by a some mindless, greedy morons help bent on causing trouble and stealing as much as they possibly can.

I'm glad to know that all family members of my lovely buddies who could have been affected by this are okay.  Let's pray for a quiet night tonight and the return to some sort of order as soon as possible.  From what I've heard there are going to be an awful lot of police on the streets tonight.  My love to you all.

Joyron
Ooh hope you enjoy getting your hair done yogi I have to say these technical issues sound a little complicated, I'm quite relieved I use the iPhone app, it's very simple. Although, it doesn't always show video's, photos or links, I sometimes have to open my web browser to view those. Its been very quiet today, I've had to put my phone on charge, which shows how much I've been online today! Have any of you been to betty's tea rooms in Yorkshire? You may have heard of them.. Anyway, they also have a cookery school in Harrogate, I've spent time looking at their courses today, I really fancy going on one! I've decided to save ÂĢ1 per day until I have enough to go I can put my first ÂĢ1 tip in each day and I won't miss it, and in 23 weeks from now, I'll have enough- it'll be fun saving up Would any of you do a cookery course? Mr summer has and thoroughly enjoyed it
~Sparkling Summer~

Joyron, thanks for checking the last page, at least it confirms what was causing the problem. I agree with you about watching the news.

Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms are based in Harrogate - they also have 5 other tea rooms in Yorkshire and they also own Taylors of Harrogate, the tea and coffee people. It's a family owned business and nobody knows why the man who set up the business in 1919 called it Bettys.

Over 10 years ago I spent a fortnight working in Harrogate. Although I saw Bettys, as I was working I never got a chance to go in. Harrogate is a very attractive spa town, and is one of the more attractive places to drive into though parking can be a nightmare as it is a tourist town.

El Loro
El! You didn't go to Bettys?!!!! You should have done it's exquisite! Squiggle, they do all sorts of cookery classes; meat, fish, breads, chocolate, desserts, chocolate deserts, spicy foods, foreign foods, winter food, summer food, dinner party food, one pot wonders. They even do courses about knife sharpening, courses for kids, and Christmas pudding courses! I'm particularly interested in a cake course, I'd enjoy that one. Mr summer would like to do the 2nd spice box course, and we're both interested in the Christmas pudding one for next year *starts saving pennies*
