Good morning everyone

Sunny here, no chance of any rain. Latest forecast has highs of 31° for the latter half of next week so close at heatwave conditions. Yellow heat wave warning already issued, may get changed to amber in a few days, no sign that this will be a repeat of the extreme heat we had, main concern will be grass fires.

I hope everyone has a good day

Normally I wouldn't mention world sports photography awards but the winning photo for 2022 is unique:

It's the first photo and have a look at the shadow
The rest of the photos are typical sports photos including two with sports injuries.

You're forgiven this once El

At first glance she looked like she was holding a cigarette
Nice girl to be so gentle with one of Nature's most beautiful creatures

@slimfern possible films for you on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week:
Tuesday 4.35 in the morning "County Hospital" (1932) Laurel and Hardy short
Hog Wild 18.25 "Hog Wild" another Laurel and Hardy short

Friday 17.55 "Personal Column" (1947) American film noir set in this country about British police searching for a serial killer who lures his victims by newspaper adverts and they enlist the help of an American woman. Cast included George Sanders, Lucille Ball, Charles Coburn and Boris Karloff so quite an unusual mix.

Sunday 13.00 "Go West" (1925) A Buster Keaton feature film about a New Yorker who goes west and finds a job leading a herd of cattle. Not one of the top Keaton comedies but still very watchable.

@slimfern I omitted a film being shown on the Talking Pictures tv channel on Thursday at 7.20 in the morning. "D.O.A." (1950).
Man (Edmond O'Brien) told by doctors that he's been poisoned with "luminous toxin" for which there's no antidote and that he has only a few days left. So he decides to find out who murdered him. Film has been remade several times since but this is the original.
I think the term "luminous toxin" was invented for this film as it means a toxin which can be detected through a test using luminescence.

I have seen this film before, the one I saw had Dennis Quaid as the main character...I'm a bit of a Quaid fan

There was also a series telling the same story but I couldn't tell you what it was called...made in the 90's I think...my late husband used to watch it when I was working evenings...

I thought it quite likely that you had seen the Dennis Quaid remake.
I don't know off hand what that series was called. There have been quite a number of tv series where the idea has been used but in single episodes rather than a series.
