Good morning Buddies

Overcast and cool. Light showers or not expected, depending on which weather site one looks on

Enjoy your day everyone

Robert FitzRoy is the person who came up with the term weather forecast in about 1859. He was the first person to be in charge of the department now known as the Meteorological Office. If you ever hear the shipping forecast on the radio, one of the shipping areas is FitzRoy named after him.

El, I listen to the shipping forecast every night I am awake, which is most nights

Liked that

They're not like any recorder I've ever played...especially the big one played by the young Chinese lady...

The recorders they were playing would have been of a much higher standard (and cost) than those used in schools. Although the soprano one is the most familiar, there are larger ones so deeper such as alto, tenor and bass so rather like singing ranges.

Looks very pretty

I remember learning about quavers, semi-quavers and crotchets etc at school...the only quaver I would recognise these days comes in a yellow packet

From longest to shortest with each one being half of the one above:
breve
semibreve
minim
crotchet
quaver
semiquaver
demisemiquaver
hemidemisemiquaver
There are shorter notes but rarely used: semihemidemisemiquaver and demisemihemidemisemiquaver

played all four types of recorders in school in the school band  and choir-they all were played very differently
