Tim Berners-Lee would have been 6 in 1961 - I know he must be a genius but to come up with the world wide web at that age would have been sensational - a true child prodigy.

I'm feeling much much better, more like my normal self tonight Skylark, I do hope your computer problems are short lived I hate not being able to connect to the net, I lost my 3G this afternoon at work due to a heavy thunderstorm, and it was absolutely dead so I'd have had the time to be online! Hope you're all having a lovely Saturday

Poor Mr Summer - at least he has you to look after him.

It did start raining this afternoon but I didn't get wet, because middle son was visiting and he did the dog walking for me.

Do you have anything nice planned for Sunday?

I intend to have a go at some baking tomorrow. My new oven has been brilliant for roasts, casseroles etc, so I've decided to see if it can improve my baking results too.

That sounds lovely, I look forward to seeing the pic, Summer.

The door painting came to a standstill today. It's difficult to paint when you have visitors, you need to keep yelling "Remember the paint's still wet!". I also have family coming tomorrow, so I'll postpone the rest of the doors until Monday.

I may have Harvey again on Monday - dogs and paint are not a good combination, but I can do the bedroom doors upstairs.

What's that old saying, "No rest for the wicked"

I'm toddling off to bed now, so I'll say goodnight.

Lovely chatting with you as always, Summer.

And a hug for Ros in case she's around.

So far this morning it has been dry, it was wet overnight and rain now looks imminent here - it's Scotland which is getting it bad today, particularly the south-east, and some of the showers in squiggleland look as it they could be heavy.

At church today, it was a special service where have once a year where families who have had a child baptised in the last 3 years are invited. At the end we have a large sponge cake to share between us which has been made by one of our parishioners.

Good luck with the cake Yogi

Good to know Mr Summer is improving.

Our church has an open air service scheduled for this afternoon such a shame for all the visitors too, and we are heaving with them down here at the moment.

That service for families with newly baptised children sounds like a marvellous idea.

Summer, been to church - lots of boys and girls from a church in Loughborough, members of boys' and girls' brigade, had a parade in church - with their flags, who are camping down here.  Film this afternoon and chill

Yogi hope your cakes taste wonderful.

I hope the rain clears before your open air service starts, Squiggle.

Are there any contingency plans in case the rain doesn't go off?

I remember the days when my boys took part in Boys Brigade parades.

I've made a lemon drizzle cake - two sponges sandwiched together with lemon buttercream and white icing drizzled on top. It looks okay but the proof will be in the eating, later on.

Yogi19

Its gonna be delicious Yogi - wipes dribble away

No chance of the rain holding off from what the BBC site says for Ilfracombe, contingency plan is to meet in the local church but of course the point of the open air service is to try to spread the message to, say, holidaymakers.

We also had a young family in today who are missionaries in France.  That might sound silly seeing as France is supposed to be a Catholic country but they said that although every town has a Catholic church many, if not most, are closed and open only for weddings etc and less than 1% of the population is an evangelising Christian.

Mmmmmmm that sounds delicious yogi! rate it for us Hope the rain doesn't/hasn't spoil/spoiled your plans today We've been to a lovely little gallery/gift shop place to get some pictures framed, the owner of the gallery advised us to come back next week because they are changing their framing supplier, they found someone local who's prices are far more reasonable. Very kind of her While I was there I saw some wonderful items I can buy for my best friend who is expecting her first child this December I'm off to clean out my rabbit hutch, regardless of the rain showers, see you in a bit

That has really surprised me, Squiggle. I always thought of the French as devout Catholics.

That was nice of the gallery owner to let you know about the new supplier.

I hope you manage to get a lovely frame for your pic of Durham catherdral.

Good luck with cleaning out the rabbit hutch - that's one job I don't envy you.

Good morning everyone, Yogi I hope that the estimate they have given you on delivery of your laptop charger is a gloomy one, often I find that they tell you something will take about a week to arrive and it comes the next day.

Summer that gallery/gift shop sounds very caring, wanting the best for its customers at the best possible price, the way a business should be run

good morning Aw squiggle that pic is adorable I saw a Keira look a like on my drive to work this morning! The car in front had a very happy looking golden retriever sitting in the boot, when we stopped at traffic lights I was chuckling away as he/she was excitedly taking in the surroundings. I thought of yogi when I saw it It's gloomy, chilly and we have light rain today, I'm glad I brought my book with me, I may get time

Good morning Squiggle.

What a wonderful picture - my youngest son used to use our first retriever as a pillow, very much like that pic (he was only 15 months when we got her). She wouldn't move a muscle until he woke up.

He also used her as a step to climb up onto the couch. I think she saw it as a fair swap for all the biscuits, toast and other scraps he used to drop to her from his highchair.
