I think that her forgetting her lines was intended and a running joke during the film

There's one other surviving clip which has Nick Lucas singing "Tiptoe through the tulips" - it was him who made this song popular. Just before that there's a bit of another character trying to do the Statue of Liberty bit and is forgetting the lines and another right at the end,

Although the film was made in Technicolor, that changed over the decades. This film was in the two colour version - red and green,

I've only heard the Tiny Tim version before

I heard the song when I was very young, years before the Tiny Tim version. I think it most likely that my mother had taken me to a Mothers Union party at the local church. As part of that some of the mothers would sing songs as part of the entertainment.

Although Nick Lucas first sang the song in 1929  he would continue his singing career on radio, in night clubs and dance halls until 1966.

Tiny Tim considered him to be an inspiration which is why he borrowed the song as his theme song. The two became friends.

Although Nick Lucas had retired he was invited to Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show" on December 1tth 1969:

Reference is made to Tiny Tim asking him to be on the show and Johnny Carson mentions "our couple". What's not apparent from the clip is that this is the show where Tiny Tim got married during the show,
Tiny Tim does not appear during the above clip.

52 years of marriage...that's something to be proud of

Good morning Buddies

Its raining here and set to be so until mid afternoon

It’s looking much better tomorrow though

Enjoy your day everyone

It's been raining here all morning though seems to be easing off now.

BBC weather site has unsettled weather for next Monday and Tuesday. The near heatwave originally being forecast for next week is not happening according to the BBC forecast.

I hope your work is progressing satisfactorily El

I have got as far as I can with the company accounts I was working on but it's now on hold. Client is trying to find out what happens when a finance lease for a commercial vehicle comes to an end at the end of this year. There is an issue of concern which I had told the client 3 years ago. Client was relaxed about it then.
He's not now.
It's not a tax issue so HMRC wouldn't be concerned.

Some soil from the Moon has been used to grow plants at the university of Florida:

A type of cress used which reminded me of when I was very young and we would grow cress on damp blotting paper at school

We did the same but with cotton wool, as did my children and Grand-Daughter

"Every plant - whether in a lunar sample or in a control - looked the same up until about day six."
After that, differences emerged. The plants grown in moon soil started to show stress, developed more slowly and ended up stunted.
Not so good ....I wonder if anyone actually ate some of it?

True, but the article goes on to say that it's part of the work NASA is doing to unlock agricultural innovations which may help on being able to grow food in those areas of Earth where the ability to do so is scarce

that was interesting EL -especially as  the cress initially grew but the  moon soil must lack some longer lasting nutrients so the plants stalled -fascinating
