Is the site running slow for any particular reason do you know El?

If the problem is continuing, a couple of things to try.
Firstly close your browser, then come back in. Crowdstack uses several servers and sometimes one of them can be playing up - it's just chance as to which server you get so that can result if some people having problems and others not.

If that doesn't work, then try using a different browser. If the the second browser works OK, that suggests that you may need to clear the cache on the browser you normally use. Browsers use different methods of doing that.

Thanks El..

Never watched it but his "King of Comedy" (1982) would be Lewis's best film - that's the Martin Scorsese film with Robert de Niro as Rupert Pupkin, (no connection with the Norman Wisdom films where sometimes his character was called Norman Pitkin)

I don't remember watching him in anything that wasn't with Dean Martin.
But that looks like it could be fun

I do have to be in the right mood to watch humour such as Wisdom & Lewis cos it can be annoyingly OTT sometimes

"The King of Comedy" is a satirical black comedy drama. I don't think it would be a fun film as such

Lloyds Bank have been notifying customers who use their internet banking service that as from 16 May. Lloyds will have to option to stop sending paper statements. Lloyds would give 2 months notice and tell customers what options they have.

For a long time my brother has had Lloyds internet banking set up but was unable to access it as he had moved and the phone number registered with Lloyds was for the old address. If he tried to log on, a message would get sent to the old phone number so he never got the call. I'll check with him as to if this was eventually sorted out but, if not, he could have problems.

I use internet banking but not with Lloyds. My bank also use my phone number to send codes for certain uses...not for logging on though.
Hope your brother manages to sort his issue soon if he already hasn't

As for paper statements..I stopped receiving them years ago, upon my request. It's easy enough to print one off if needed.

I use Lloyds and have never had to use my phone number for logging in so I was puzzled by what my brother had said. This was some years ago and hopefully he's been able to sort this out

Yes, I can print off the statements so the change wouldn't be problematical.
There is one issue though. That's to do with proof of ID. For example someone who is coming to their 70th birthday, has an old fashioned paper driving licence, and doesn't have a passport, when they come to apply to the mandatory renewal at 70. they would have to send the application via post with proof of identity. They can send their last annual state pension notification letter if they sent it or a recent bank statement which shows the statement pension coming in. Would they accept a printed off statement or only a statement received from the bank? The requirement is the original, not a copy.

A request can be made for an original statement I think. I'm not sure how long it takes or if it costs to do so.

Am a few years away from 70 and don't drive

My brother has never driven. Just as well. Years ago, I was driving with him in the countryside. We came up to a T junction a bit like:
---------
   /
   /
Wanted to turn right, asked him to keep a check to the left. He said all clear, I was just about to move forward when I did a quick check to the left and saw a big coming from the left. If I hadn't done that quick check, the result would have been a catastrophe.

Ooops! Good job you checked

Yeah there are a good many that shouldn't be allowed to drive and probably just as many that should never have been

Id is going to be a problem in the future for things like banking. Who's remit is that  -  the Home Office. Not everybody has a passport or driving licence.

Hope all are well ( and The King of Comedy is a top film - total departure          .     One of the few that was kept on VHS. )

I thought you would have liked "The King of Comedy"

Only VHS tape I kept was of an old film where the music had been composed by a recognised composer and this version had the music performed by a major orchestra. Never re-released on DVD. The likelihood of this film being shown in this country at this time is zero.

Rachmaninoff?

Russian music is epic

Right idea but Prokofiev. The film I'm referring to is:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0...0/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
I have a copy of the alternate version mentioned on that page. Very unusually for a feature film, the tape I have has no BBFC rating as it was released as a music video rather than a film video.
Film is regarded as a major international classic and in Halliwell's Top 1000 is rated as the 33rd best film made.
Film made in 1938 and based on events in the 13th century.

I was too old to have seen either of them but the second one is rather good
Years ago I did see an unusual film on television. It was a foreign film from Europe either once of the Scandinavian countries or an Eastern European country. Quite likely based on a folk tale. Although the main characters were youngish and there was an element of fantasy about it, it was set during the Black Death plague so quite dark. Live action.
Can't remember the title. It's not "The Navigator: A Medieval Odyssey".

Online purchase payment checks coming in from Monday. Applies to payments over ÂĢ30. For many, that will be a code sent to their mobile phone. Mobile phone reception very poor here. With one of my cards, the code will be sent to my landline. With the other, that option isn't available so I've now got one of those card readers to use. Some retailers may not be ready which could result in payments getting declined but I think the larger ones have been ready for some time.

ÂĢ30 is a small amount...

The "strong customer authentication" being brought in is via the EU directive from 2015 on payment services. Part of its purpose is to reduce customers risk of loss on such payments. The directive refers to a threshold of 30 euros. Although we are now out of the EU, the rules have been brought in by the government and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The actual threshold is a bit unclear as some sources refer to ÂĢ30 and others to the smaller amount of ÂĢ25 (which is roughly equal to 30 euros).
(there's another threshold which is 150 euros - someone paying for something costing 180 euros by paying 6 lots of 30 euros would find that they had to go through the authentication process)

Some card providers will have an option for customers to add various retailers to their list of approved retailers and there, that would mean that the authentication process wouldn't kick in.

Does this apply to both Debit and Credit cards?
