It was a much needed win after quite a number of close matches, typically Cheltenham would go ahead in the first half and that would be negated in the second half. Last night Cheltenham went behind in the first half and went ahead in the second half

They found some fight from somewhere last night then El

The Baggies are away at Sheffield United tonight that won’t be easy. If they win they will be on the same points as we are. We are 6th in the playoffs places. Like, you we need win badly now

Just received a letter from DEFRA regarding avian flu. Apparently one of the outbreaks is about 6 miles away so my area is in the monitoring area. I don't keep any birds. So if I were to find an ill or dead bird I should not pick it up but report it to DEFRA.

Crikey El ..you be careful

If you're going to be picking up any 'birds', I'd make sure it's of the human kind if I were you
Although...some of them can be just as dangerous

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here, sunny intervals forecast today.

Moonie, not a good evening for your team yesterday

I hope everyone has a good day

Unfortunately not El. We have dropped out of the playoff places too…

We have a park at the bottom of our road that is being renovated. It’s all fenced off with industrial fencing. The top and bottom gates are only opened on a weekend when there are no workmen or heavy machinery about.

The is a notice on the gates warning not to touch or pick up any dead bird but to report it to DEFRA.

Pretty sad really though there is still lots of wildlife on and around the large pool.

The Talking Pictures tv channel is currently showing a 1948 British film called "No Room at the Inn" Not a cheerful film and not Christmassy despite the title and the film starting off with "Once in Royal David's City".
Of note is that the screenplay was co-written by Dylan Thomas.

On Wiki it sounds a rather depressing film El ....not usual to see Dora Bryan in a non comic role.

I think it is a depressing film
Although Dora Bryan was better known for her comic roles, her early films weren't. For instance she was in "The Blue Lamp" (1950), the police procedural film with Jack Warner and Dirk Bogarde. Film famous for introducing the character "PC George Dixon" who was murdered but then managed to reappear in 432 episodes of "Dixon of Dock Green"

The magic of TV

I vaguely remember 'Dixon of Dock Green', well the 'Evening All' bit ...I wasn't born or we were abroad a lot of those years it was on...came back to England in 76' the year it ended....Just in time to watch ABBA win the Eurovision

Correct that...ABBA won in 74'..so it must have been 74' that we came back to England and there in those two years was when I remember it from

These senior moments are becoming more frequent

I can't remember if I ever watched "Dixon of Dock Green" as I would have been too young when the early series were shown
Dixon's daughter Mary was played in the very first series by Billie Whitelaw, though none of those 6 episodes are known to exist.

It started several years before I was born and finished just before my teens

Billie 'The Omen' Whitelaw was a fine actress
Any reason why those episodes didn't 'exist'?
