@El Loro posted:@slimfern you asked me to remind you that "The Tales of the Unexpected" series starts from series 1 at 1pm today.
Thanks El ......I had forgotten
Slimfern, if you are watching the first episode I wonder how long it will be before you recognise the actress playing Cathy

Watched episodes 1 and 2 today

Yes, every episode of the first series, 8 of the second series and 1 other were written by Roald Dahl.
In the first episode, Katy Jurado was the Mexican woman who appeared towards the end. She was a notable film actress being the first Latin American actress to be nominated for an Oscar. Her best known film was "High Noon".
By the way "High Noon" is a very very good western. It's as much a character study and a thriller as a western. The film's climax is as tense as a Hitchcock film.

I did recognise her face but wasn't sure where from
High Noon is a good film
Has been many years since I saw it.

I did watch "High Noon" again fairly recently. It may be the only western made where the action takes place in real time (supposedly but not quite). Not many films like that, the first being Hitchcock's "Rope".
night EL Slim monsiee hope you are ok
Good morning everyone it looks like we may get some sunny intervals today still with a strong breeze though.
Enjoy your day everyone

Imagine having to co-ordinate 32-64 legs I have trouble with just two sometimes
@slimfern posted:Imagine having to co-ordinate 32-64 legs I have trouble with just two sometimes
Centipedes have between 30 and 354 legs (2 per body segment, there are always an odd number of body segments).
Millipedes have at least 44 legs (4 per body segment). Most of them have at least 84 legs and there is a species which has over 1,300 legs.
That's per Wiki
Bach's Toccata and Fugue is an odd choice of music for the clip, possibly chosen as toccata is a composition for performers to demonstrate their abilities in a way to show off.

Bits of pale blue sky amidst the clouds here though forecast to become cloudy again with some rain later. Some ground frost at present.
Daylight hours start increasing from today though hardly noticeable, about an extra 4 minutes of daylight in the next week at the latitude here.
I hope everyone has a good day

He sounds a bit lazy on that El. Probably the attitude I would take right now.

If the date the clip was posted is around the time Nelson sung the song he would have been 80 which could account for why he sounds lazy, Velvet.

Oh! ha...see am bliddy useless at times...just heard them say that too
High calibre cast of the first "Tales of the Unexpected" today - Joseph Cotten (Citizen Kane, The Magnificent Ambersons) and Wendy Hiller (Pygmalion, I Know Where I'm Going). Those films from the late 1930s and 40s being their most important. "Pygmalion" is the definitive version of Shaw's play and "I Know Where I'm Going" (Powell/Pressburger) is the one British romantic comedy equal to the best of the Hollywood comedies of that time.
@slimfern posted:Oh! ha...see am bliddy useless at times...just heard them say that too
They may have said that it was the first M & W episode to be originally shown on BBC One. Previous series had been shown on BBC Two as that broadcast in colour before BBC One did.
