You have been a very welcome addition to this thread, Summer - and I also hope you're still here when we reach 20,000.

*takes a cookie - yummy*

Good morning to all my wonderful buddies.    Congratulations on reaching that elusive posting Squiggle.  It was SO right that you were the person to post it.  I am proud to be a member of this lovely little thread.  I don't know what I would have done without your help, support and guidance over these past months.  I know I would be lonely without being able to come in here and talk to you all.

I'm no good with the graphics but I will certainly raise a glass to you all.  Here's to the next 10,000 posts.

Joyron

Evening all. Squiggle, love the music to go with El's sun.

Skylark, I hope you have your GaGa flag ready to wave, so we will all know it's you.

Hope you all have a good weekend and the weather is kind to you.

Summer, try to get some rest this weekend, after your decorating.

Ros, in case you pop in later.

Edit, you did pop in, so here's your hug, Ros.

Good morning everyone

At present it's still 100% cloud cover here but the forecast is for sun later.

I got yet another phone call from these wretched insurance claims management companies yesterday evening going on about payment protection insurance. Again someone with an English name with an Indian accent, but this one had such a strong Indian accent that it was near impossible to understand what he was saying. When I told him I didn't have any payment protection insurance he still carried on and so I just put the phone down on him. The phone number shown was not a genuine number. The sooner these sort of companies are brought under proper regulatory control, the better as I'm sure that some of these calls are from criminal scammers and the ones that are not criminal seem to be right on the edge of ethics.

Unfortuately being in business means that I cannot just ignore the phone when it rings.

El Loro

Good morning everyone, it's another sunny day up here.

Those phone calls are so annoying, El. It's time that something was done about them.

I keep receiving texts on my mobile, telling me that there is ÂĢ3780 with my name on it - as compensation for the recent accident I never had.

Skylark, make sure you give us a wave when your "at" the wedding today.

Have a good day everyone, will be back later.

Yogi19

Good morning everyone, sort of grey and misty but managing to feel humid too - quite horrible really.

Skylark how exciting, how will we know its you if we spot you in the crowd?

Summer well done on getting the decorating done, what colour scheme did you use?  I am sooooo nosey

When you are busy working I'm sure that constantly getting nuisance calls is the last thing you need EL.  I suppose I get about 3 or 4 calls on average each week which are Out of Area or International but then I don't have to pick up and you do

Leaving hugs for Yogi and Joyron and Ros who I haven't got around to mentioning, but anyway one of these >>>>>> for everyone.  Have a good day.

squiggle

Squiggle, the pests are getting craftier. The phone number of the computer scammer was 0212 777 3019 and the number of yesterday's insurance claim one was 02256 800 0256. Both of them look genuine at first glance. But if you look on the lists of UK area codes there are none starting with 02127 or 02256.

Summer, because I need to answer my phone as it could be a business call, there is little I can do. I use Virgin cable and there is no method of blocking individual calls. They would advise me to change my phone number, but I happen to have a good number which I would not want to lose, and even if I did change, they would start ringing that number sooner or later. It needs government action, but it would have to be on an international basis as I think most of these calls come from abroad, certainly many of them come from India. I hope you don't have to work too hard, it sounds as if you could do a good rest.

Skylark, I hope you have a great time at the wedding

El Loro
Oh crikey El it sounds like you're stuck with it for now I think hanging up is the best option then, how frustrating tho Thanks all, work has been reasonable so far Ooh skylark, will you be wearing a fab hat today?!!! Squiggle, I've gone for cream Walls because our curtains are red and I didn't want to change those, and we added a wallpapered feature wall that has red flowers with gold leaves- it's quite a simple, not in ya face, pattern. I'll upload some pics later from home for you. Yogi I hope you're having a good weekend with the dogs!

Was that the non-existent car accident where we didn't bump into each other as I've had a couple of the same type of phone call ?

We could have had that accident in an altenative history, as in the many-worlds interpretation under quantum mechanics. We may be stuck in a brane-world scenario, which under one of the string theories there are many dimensions but we can only sense the 3 standard dimensions plus the time dimension. But with parallel universes sitting like sheets on top of each other, there can be tears in the fabric of time and space where two of the universes meet for an instant. And in that instant information is past from one universe to the other via one of the other dimensions, so that is how these people ringing us have become confused between the world where the accident happened and this world where the accident didn't happen.

So, we shouldn't assume that these people ringing are just on a fishing exercise, they may be justified.

hi everyone x
i had a nice day in town, but it was so busy and taking a 3 year old, in hindsight wasnt a great idea ! We were far away from the church so didnt see that much to be honest. The cars passed us, so we had a quick look at some of the Royals . a pity Zara didnt turn around before going into the Church, it would have been a nice gesture for the people who had been there for hours. She gave a sort of wave, a lot of people we were talking to were a bit disappointed. i dont know if we made the telly or not, i was the one with the bright red face trying to entertain a bored child !

Skylark, at least you had a nice day out

I wasn't watching the wedding on television - I think it was on the BBC news channel, but they said that the service itself was private so that there was no coverage of the wedding itself.

By the way, unless you have an IQ of at least 500, don't attempt to try to understand my earlier post, because I don't

After the exhausting day i have had not much makes sense !  I think my IQ is 126, i cant remember now . Interesting post tho, says i  !  Do you watch Dr Who, by any chance ? xx

FM

I've been watching Dr Who since it started, so I've seen loads of Doctors.  Tom Baker was my favourite and I preferred the previous incarnation to this one, although Matt Smith isn't as bad I thought he might be.  I do think the plots are getting too involved though, all that clone/person/clone thing got too complicated I think.

Anyway I think I'll head off to read my book so love to all who pop in later, maybe catch you tomorrow.
