Talking Pictures channel are showing "Secret People" (1952) later this afternoon. Not an outstanding film and not a comedy even if it's an Ealing Studios film. Of note is that in one of the roles is Audrey Hepburn before she became famous a year later in "Roman Holiday".  She plays the younger sister of the lead actress and does some ballet dancing.
Also in a very minor role as a hairdresser is Bob Monkhouse in his first film.

I'm not keen on Audrey Hepburn ...

I think Bob Monkhouse was in one of the carry on films wasn't he....would be the only acting I've seen him do

Have tried to watch Deborah Kerr in 'Black Narcissus' this afternoon....but gave up....bit heavy for my mood

I remember that you were not keen on Audrey Hepburn

Bob Monkhouse was in the very first Carry On film (Sergeant) but not in any of the others. He was the lead in "Dentist in the Chair" (1960) and a sequel "Dentist on the Job" (1961) but not much else in films.
He did make a television series in the mid 60s called "Mad Movies" It was about silent films and was quite interesting.

I've seen "Black Narcissus" a few times over the years.

I know him best for being a show host...
I believe he had a photographic mind or was that a myth ?

I think he may have had a photographic memory.

He did a short lived quiz show for the BBC back in 1995 called "Monkhouse's Memory Masters"  where the contestants (who had been given memory training beforehand) to memorise lists of things to recall during the show. It wasn't popular as the audiences couldn't interact as with other quiz shows and so only the one series was made. It would seem logical that this was a programme which appealed to Monkhouse if he had a photographic memory.

Yes you're probably right
Tended to find him a bit patronising and little bit creepy if I'm being honest....

Preferred other hosts
