Cricket at Bristol between Gloucestershire and Durham this morning came to a halt after 5 balls had been bowled. A Great Western Air Ambulance landed on the outfield due to a critical incident just outside the ground. The helicopter has now taken off and cricket resumed.

Let’s hope their patient is okay

I have been watching…Live European Championship T10 Cricket. It’s quite exciting on occasions

The patient had fallen and had a head injury. The air ambulance had been returning to their base after attending elsewhere. As they had a critical care doctor and two specialist paramedics on board, they landed tin order to get to that patent quickly. After treatment on scene, the patient was taken by a land ambulance to hospital for further treatment.

Good morning Buddies

A slightly wet start to the day here. The forecast says it will brighten up in the afternoon

As always, you are very informative El, thanks

Have a great day everyone

As it's dry here I've just been cutting the grass and filling up the green wheelie with that and other gardening cuttings. Raining forecast everyday from Monday for at least a week.

I notice that Apple TV are starting a new science fiction series "Foundation". Anyone familiar with science fiction novels will recognise that title as it's based on the Isaac Asimov series of books. Many years since I read them. The second book is called Β£Foundation and Empire) though I've got that as a paperback with the title "The Man who upset the Universe".

I was just watching some baseball on the television. I wondered why the pitcher gave his glove to the umpire to look at after every innings, so I googled it.

The reason is, sticky stuff, or goop, are two slang terms for foreign substances that pitchers use to enhance their grip on the ball. It can come in many forms β€” sunscreen, pine tar, or even specially engineered formulas that don't have much conventional use outside the game. Pitchers can hide them on their hats, gloves or jerseys

You learn something new every day
