My computer has developed major graphics problems so I won't be around until this is sorted out
@El Loro posted:Moonie, they are baroque guitars which were the type used at the time. They have 5 strings rather than 6.
Thanks for the information El
@El Loro posted:The Baroque period of music was from about 1600 to 1750. J S Bach was a composer of the late Baroque period.
Here is his Bouree in e minor

Good morning everyone it's forecast to be a sunny morning followed by an afternoon of sunny intervals.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good to see that pahrot El
One of my favourite bands was Chou Pahrot. Believe me, they were abstract.
Good morning everyone
Cloudy here.
Waiting for my computer people to open before contacting them. There's a fault with the graphics board resulting in it being disabled. The basic Windows graphics module is being used. However the screen is full of streaky lines making it difficult to look at. So virtually unusable.
I hope everyone has a good day
Very bad news. Graphics board is bust. Due to the global chip shortage they can't get a replacement graphics card. Looks as if it's a new computer - they are seeing if they can find one but it's not looking good.

Awww, sorry to hear that re the graphics card
I hope they can get you a new one
Hi Velvet
Good afternoon everyone
Some sunshine here. Nice breeze. Temperature 24 degrees. Hopefully cooler tomorrow
Enjoy your day everyone
Thanks Velvet and Moonie
Doesn't seem that a new computer is an option due to that global chip shortage. Very basic ones are still available.
My computer people are trying a card they've got to see it that is any better than the windows basic graphics one.
If it's the windows one then I can still do my work and get online but the resolution would be lower than the one I have used.
And games wouldn't be playable.
Using the notepad my brother gave me some time ago. Screen too small for my liking. Also only one usb port which means that as my client files are on an external drive I can't work on them and be online at the same time.
So at present I can only pop in a couple of times a day rather than being around more.

@El Loro posted:No news today on my computer so far.
Letâs hope you get some positive news soon El
My computer is back with a replacement graphics card. It's a fairly basic one but is better than using the Windows Basic Display adaptor (that's built into Windows and kicks in if there's no display card). I had to do some fiddling about with the buttons on the monitor to get the display as I need it.
Hopefully the global chip shortage will get sorted out some time - Reuters say it could easily last until next year, Intel are saying into 2023 (those being mentioned in the last week). I'm talking about semiconductor chips, not the potato type

Met Office now showing thunderstorms for a time here as well this afternoon. They may not happen though, just a chance. There's a bit of drizzle here at present, not of the lemon type
