Some 1941 British film on Talking Pictures called "Spring Meeting". Names of characters in it include:
Tiny Fox-Collier (played by Enid Stamp-Taylor)
her son Tony Fox-Collier (Michael Wilding)
Baby Furze (Nova Pilbeam - that's her real name and she was the lead actress in a couple of early Hitchcock films)
and Aunt Bijou (Margaret Rutherford ).
I think it's some sort of romantic comedy based on a play of that name.

Evening all

Another hot day. I did my ironing at 8am, while it was still relatively cool.

I hope you’ve all had a good day and managed to stay cool.

Hi Yogi

A lovely breezy cool day here for the most

I was putting washing out very early this morning. It’s all dry

It’s going as dark at night here now

My day has been good. I hope yours has too

Good morning everyone

Cloudy and humid here, rain expected very soon. BBC forecast has thunderstorms forecast for later today, Met Office doesn't.

I hope everyone has a good day

Take your pick then El?

I see that Talking Pictures is showing the 1940 film "Contraband" this evening.

It was directed by Michael Powell. It has the same leads as his better known film "The Spy in Black" (1939) - Conrad Veidt and Valerie Hobson.

It's the only Powell film of note which is not available on DVD (other than a Region 1 import from the States).

Too soon to know if it's the US version which was cut by 8 minutes.

Still no rain here, as yet

None here either.
BBC still showing thunderstorms from now for the rest of the day whereas Met Office has dry for the rest of the day.

Could do with a bit of rain

It has been 25 degrees today but there has been a nice breeze.

I forgot to say yesterday that Mr Y has been nagging me to bake him a Mary Berry orange cake and I finally made it for him. It turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself.

Love the pics, El.

I hope you don’t get the thunderstorms, gents.

Hi Moonie 22 is a bit better, not boiling hot

Well done on getting three loads done.
I always thought I was a rubbish baker but Mary Berry recipes seem to be foolproof

You can say that again

Thanks Yogi

🤔 Nope, nothing is foolproof. It’s always the person doing the job that has the skill to get it right
