I have noticed Eurosport have added another 6 channels. One assumes it will be for Olympic coverage

I think that is likely, It's the BBC and Eurosport covering the Olympics. BBC One will be predominantly Olympics, BBC Two will have some though will be showing the cricket 100 matches and some other television for those who aren't sports fans. The Eurosport channels will be subscription ones.

The cricket 100 tournament is new and attempt to attract young people to cricket. Problem is that the players are in teams which have been created for the tournament. There's a small number of Gloucestershire players in the Welsh Fire team and a small number in the Birmingham Phoenix team so there's no team that I can say I particularly want to win. More to the point, I don't care who wins.

Good evening Yogi

Its been the same here too. It’s seems to be cooling down now though. A nice breeze has sprung up. Curtains billowing

My day has been good fankoo. I trust yours has too

Hi Moonie

Unfortunately the sun comes round the front in the evening and our bedroom is at the front. It’s still like an oven, even though I have a fan on full blast on me

I’m glad you had a good day, mine was good too

Hiya

The sun rises on the front of my house but by about 1pm it moves round the back. My bedroom is at the front

Fankoo and I’m glad you had a good day too

Moonie

Good morning everyone it's a little cooler this morning but we're in for another very hot day. Fellow sufferer here Yogi my bedroom windows face North and West. The sun shines through the West facing window fiercely until sunset even though the curtains are drawn. Mind you they're a little flimsy being cream lace, a poor choice in these conditions but they are very pretty.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone

A warm start to the day here. We are expectedly to reach 30°

It’s going to be much cooler tomorrow though, Just 25°. Saturday 20° with a weather warning for rain

Enjoy your day everyone and stay hydrated

That rain warning covers a large area but if you look at the detail there's the possibility that some places could get up to100 mm of rain much of which could fall in a short period of time. The warning is a yellow one but will change if the Met Office can identify the areas most at risk. Areas most at risk seem to be the sooth west and the southern half of Wales.

To be honest I haven’t studied it that close El. I just notice the weather warnings for Saturday/Sunday

A hundred millimetres is a lot of rain though

For those of you, if any, who watch "Death in Paradise" there's to be a 90 minute special over the Christmas period  Danny John-Jules as Officer Dwayne Myers returns for this episode.

Amongst the cast for this episode is Juliet Stevenson. Same league as Anton Lesser and David Suchet when it comes to the human voice:

She often is the reader of poems on Radio 4 as is Anton Lesser.

There's a British 1960 comedy film called "And the Same to You" on Talking Pictures today. I've never seen it and I doubt if it's worth watching but it has some well known people in the cast.

There are some actors who had been in films for some years before 1960 such as William Hartnell and Sid James.
But there are two people who you don't think of as being in films:
Brian Rix who is best known for the television farces made during the 1960s and quit acting to become president of Mencap,
and Tommy Cooper (who was in only one other film and the short silent "The Plank")
