Thank you for that post El. Itâs very interesting and informative
I note that the British film actress Jean Kent was born 100 years ago today.
Can you think of other people whose surname was other British counties ?

I can think of others
I remember seeing Susan Hampshire in a BBC series called Katy back in 1962. It was in the Sunday 5pm slot where there would be adaptations of books made for the family. That slot also had various Dickens adaptations.
I have just seen the most diabolical tackle I have ever seen in all my years of watching football. Sweden v Ukraine. Extra time.
Swede comes in. Studs showing. Catches the Ukrainian on the knee. Bending his knee across the knee joint. Itâs wonder it didnât break the Ukrainianâs leg.
The Swede was red carded and thoroughly deserved to be too

Good morning everyone
Less cloudy here then recently.
I hope everyone has a good day
Strange film coincidence. Today on different tv film channels there's:
"Sheepdog of the Hills" (1941) a British film,
and "The Shepherd of the Hills" (also 1941), an American film.
No connection between the two films. The title of the British one indicates what the film is about. The American one is not about sheep. Based on the book by Harold Bell Wright who was a writer and a preacher. Although the film isn't a religious film as such the "shepherd" is the stranger who comes to the rural community to come to people's help and give them support, and also about seeking redemption. Film is a John Wayne one but is a pastoral film, not a western. Not a perfect film, but does have some remarkable scenes.
Good morning everyone
An overcast muggy start to the day here. A high of 20 degree expected this afternoon. No rain forecast today
A nice surprise to see England winning
Enjoy your day everyone

I had though of him but then realised that York isn't a county
I didn't mention Devon Malcolm the cricketer as I had originally said where the surname was a county.
If I expanded it to include first names as well then there's the writer Somerset Maugham
