Although dormice are rodents they are not mice. The word "dormouse" comes from the French word "dormeuse" meaning sleeper.

Hi all
It has been sunny today but I have stayed indoors. Iβm not supposed to sit in the sun anyway.
El, the little dormice are so cute
Moonie, I know you donβt watch England games but have you been watching any of the Euro matches?
I wonder what was going on with the police in your street, El.
I wonβt be on later so have a good evening, all
Yogi, I think it was that the car turned into my road followed by the police car, then went elsewhere. The police siren ceased within seconds so the police might have stopped the car just round the corner. I wasn't going to go out and see what was going on

Good morning to you all
Itβs breezy and quite cool here. Rain forecast for most of the day. Needless to say I probably wonβt be venturing out
Yogi, I hope you rib is getting a little easier and you are managing to get some decent sleep
Enjoy your day everyone
Rain has started here, light at present bur forecast to get heavier.
No play at the World Test Championship cricket Final which was supposed to have started this morning. It's the first time this match has been done, Concept is that since June 2019 winners of test matches get points and the top two teams play in a final. Due to the pandemic, various test series got cancelled so they had to settle on the top two teams by reference to the number of points scored to the number of matches played.
The top two teams were calculated as India and New Zealand and the final to be played at Southampton.
And of course, it's raining

And the rain has stopped cricket at Bristol now. BBC 5 Extra commentator's words:
"gloomy picture of soggy misery that we'll be gazing out at for the next who knows how long"

Very lyrical
The 1955 Charles Laughton film "The Night of the Hunter" (Robert Mitchum, Lillian Gish & Shelley Winters) was based on a book by Davis Grubb.
One can buy a hardback copy of the book from Amazon:

The price though is rather high

I'm not surprised
A sad scene from the series "Hawaii Five-O" but the title given to the clip is justified.

Fantastic picture El. Thanks
A bit of film trivia which if you didn't already know might surprise you.
Pierre Boulle was a French novelist who is best known for two works which were made into films:
"Bridge on the River Kwai" and "Planet of the Apes" (the various sequels and TV series weren't based on anything he wrote, just some of the characters).

Moonie, better weather here than for you. slightly warmer but likely to remain cloudy all day.
I see that BBC Four have a programme next Sunday about the well known "Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra" by Benjamin Britten.
Part of the programme has a rather surprising person doing a narration
