Evening all

A lovely sunny day - very warm in the middle of the day so I sat on our garden bench which was in the shade.

We got an unexpected visit from eldest son and the tiddlers- we reckon son was trying to get Brownie points by giving DiL some chill out time.
BB built a den in the garden, using interlocking foam mats that we used to put around the slide when they were small. Every now and then, he’d knock it down and out would go the call, “Granny can you help me please!”. He needed help to put the roof on,😄 PB was engrossed in a game on her phone - sign of things to come.

I agree gents, John Smith was a good man.

I hope you’ve all had a good day.

Very different from the version I sang at school but absolutely beautiful.

have sung this version with choir 1 pre covid loved this version EL

Although this version of "Ave Maria" was ascribed to Giulio Caccini, that's not the case. Caccini lived from 1551 to 1618. It was actually by Vladimir Vavilov who published it in 1970 as anonymous.

El Loro

Alexandre Dumas was best known for "The Three Musketeers" series of books and "The Count of Monte Cristo".  He wrote others.
For instance "Le Meneur de Loups"/"The Wolf Leader" which was one of the first books about a were-wolf.

He also wrote a revision of Hoffman's "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" which was used as a basis for Tchaikovsky's ballet "The Nutcracker".
