My client emailed the brokers who have replied saying that they had identified that omission at about the same time I did - they are now investigating this.
They brokers said I'm "very eagle-eyed"

Velvet, peregrine . The brokers were incorrect in describing me as eagle-eyed. My client is an charity where full accounts have to be done and I have to do an independent examination. As such I have to make sure that the dividends received per the bankings tie in with that tax report. I do this via spreadsheet reconciliation. So I found that there was a difference and it took only a moment to see that there was one dividend of that amount. If the client had been an individual and I was doing a tax return I wouldn't have needed to do that work so quite possibly not found the error.
Moonie,, it does seem a strange coincidence that I found the error on the same day the brokers did

It's possible the portal website administrators were already aware of this Would have been an issue affecting anyone who uses the portal. I checked my cookies afterwards and see that the certificate date has been renewed for 2 years from today.
