I note that Talking Pictures is showing "Q Planes" (1939) later today. It's the British 1939 equivalent of a James Bond film, not Bond though, a Major Charles Hammond, played by Ralph Richardson. Laurence Olivier was also in the film.

Not a London Films film though the uncredited executive producer was Alexander Korda who was the main person behind London Films. His brother Vincent was the supervising art director. It was directed by the American director Tim Whelan who was one of the directors of The Thief of Bagdad (1940).

I was having a look at Talking Pictures schedule over the next couple of weeks. I noticed a 1956 film called "The Extra Day" to be shown on June 1st.
The actors Talking Pictures mention are:
Richard Basehart (who I remember mainly from the old TV series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea).
Simone Simon (who I remembered from "The Devil and Daniel Webster"/ AKA "All that Money Can Buy" (1941) and the original "Cat People" (1942))
So I was thinking this was an American film. But then it mentioned:
George Baker. The only George Baker I know of was of Wexford fame. So I checked the film out and, yes, it's him.
Turns out that it is a British film. Described as a comedy drama about having to round up the film extras to reshoot the final scene of a film which has been lost. Doesn't seem to be a particularly good film though.

I had a look at who else was in the film. Quite a number of people you will have heard of:
Sid James
Joan Hickson
Beryl Reid
Bryan Forbes
There are other people that you might recognise.

And then I noticed someone who is just referred to as "Extra" and isn't credited. Turns out that it's her first film. Would become a famous British actress, then quit to become a labour MP for over 20 years, and has now gone back to acting. That should be enough info for you to know who I mean but, if not:

Glenda Jackson?

Watched a 1953 film called "Inferno". Robert Ryan, Rhonda Fleming and William Lundigan. Man (Ryan) is abandoned in the desert having accidentally broken his leg by his wife and lover.
Quite a good film, particularly Ryan's scenes.

Was made in 3-D though obviously shown in 2D on television. Regarded as possibly the best of the 3D films made at that time.

Working through a client's investment tax report from their brokers.
Amongst other things it includes the composite tax certificate (shows the totals of dividends etc received in the tax year) and the supporting lists of dividends by company.

Those tax certificates are used by investors for completing their tax returns,

I've discovered that the report has omitted one item of income from a particular company. Unlikely that the broker has made this error for just my client.

I've informed the client and suggested that they contact the broker as it means that every investor who uses the broker and has that particular investment could be making an error in their tax return

The company is one of the FTSE 250 companies rather than the FTSE 100 companies so not one of the well known companies.
