Two songs from 1960s comedy films.
Firstly Henry Mancini's "The Sweetheart Tree" from "The Great Race" (1965) - the song as sung by Natalie Wood in the film followed by Mancini's version:

And secondly Ron Grainer's "Life is a Precious Thing" from "The Assassination Bureau" (1969) (audio only):

Any of you notice any similarity between the second part of the first video and the second video?

Evening all

Mostly dry and sunny with a couple of very light showers.

Had a trip to the outdoor section of the garden centre to get a few veg plug plants. I had planted some veg seeds but a cat managed to get under my netting and it dug up and scattered my seeds.

I hope you’ve all had a good day

Hi Yogi

Lovely and sunny this morning but cold and windy this afternoon. We have had a little not long ago too

Norty 🐈

My day has been good, I hope yours was too

Hi Moonie, I’m glad your day was good

I thought the netting was well secured over the frame but. it must have been a very determined cat.

Fankoo 😁😁😁

🐈 can be when they are of mind to be

When I went down the road to the local shop this morning I saw a white cat with ginger tips to it’s ears. I was gorgeous but my favourite cats are still black ones 😁

Moonie

Funnily enough, it’s a ginger cat that is the culprit

lo At baby Cyril and co, they sound like real characters

My blackbird has done his disappearing act again. I’m expecting him back once he has babies to feed. πŸ˜‚

There is another pair of blackbirds I’ve seen at the bird feeders but they aren’t my blackbirds.

how coincidental

Baby Cyril is so cute you want to cuddle him

He will be back because he knows you care and feed him

Your garden seems to have an attraction for blackbirds

enjoyed both -the second part mirrored  the first part   as an instrumental piece of the first vocal piece

not sure this is correct though EL

You are right with the second part being an orchestrated version of the first part of the first video

What I had noticed was some similarities between that orchestrated version and the second video

Discovered this morning on the HMRC agent site that a client had deregistered me as agent for dealing with his VAT returns. Contacted him. Turns out he made a mistake. So I'm having to go through the process of getting the registration set up again. I'm referring to the agent registration, not his business VAT registration.

Part of the process requires me to say when the business was registered for VAT. That's many years ago. I had to get the client to log on to his VAT account with HMRC to find the information. It's shown on the VAT registration certificate which is accessible via the VAT account.

So a busy morning work wise

Moonie, it's been raining here, currently stopped but then heavy rain is forecast for most of the rest of the day. And there's now a warning for gusts (forecast in the high 40s mph)

Typical Bank Holiday weather

Still raining and blowing a gale here too

Moonie, I hope your team can get a good result this evening, I know they need to

Thanks El

If we can’t win a Black Country derby we don’t deserve to stay up

It has poured down all day.

Gents, I don’t have a clue about the footie twins question

I hope everyone has had a good day

It's been raining much of the day and has been the wettest day of the year, nearly as much as for the whole of April.

The two teams in that match were Hebburn Town and Consett, not exactly well known teams . I had to research Moonie's question though had known that there were a couple of finals today - in the other final was Harrogate who I had mentioned the other day regarding the prospects of Cheltenham becoming champions.

Hi and bye Yogi, sorry to have missed you

I think we have all had the same weather today

I wouldn’t have had a clue either if I hadn’t have been watching the game on the television

My day was good, I hope yours was too

Moonie

Good morning everyone

Cold, wet and windy here. The forecast is for light rain for most of the day. Gusts of  wind up to 38mph

Not a good day for going out. So I won’t be

Thanks El re the Baggies

I have looked at the table and with 4 games each to go, the 5 teams above us have to lose all their remaining games and we have to win all of ours. Sadly, that’s not going to happen

Havr a lovely day everyone but stay safe

Moonie

Moonie, by the way, although your team would need to win all 4 remaining games, they would stay up if Fulham lost or drew at least 1 game, and for instance say the team immediately above the relegation zone lost 3 games and drew 1.
That would result in your team having 26 + 4*3 = 38 points, Fulham 27 + 3*3  + 1 = 37 points and for instance Newcastle would 36 + 1 = 37 points.
