Afternoon all

Cloudy and chilly in the morning but the sun has popped out.

El, I’m glad I’ve held off planting seeds. I think I’ll leave it another couple of weeks till the cold snap is over.

Moonie, lol at the cygnet taking the nesting materials

GBM again tonight so I won’t be around later. Have a good evening, all

Hi Yogi

Cold and overcast all day here. No sunshine

It’s a gem, isn’t it?

I hope you have a good evening too

Moonie

Listened to the last few minutes of The Night Tracks Mix on Radio 3 last night.
The first piece of music I heard was this:

Clearly Gregorian in nature but was composed in 1960.

The other piece I heard was this:

Title is "Lovers in Paris".

Good morning everyone

The forecast is, overcast changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime with a high of 11°

I have just had a look outside and it’s windy and cold

Have a nice day everyone

I discovered some meat in my fridge just now which I had forgotten about. Sealed but the use by date is 5 January.
Don't panic - I'm not going to eat it

Good job too

I can beat that though El. I had a packet of biscuits from my local Costcutters last week. The use by date 2nd January 2021

I took them back and was thanked for bringing it to their notice. The other 3 packets on the shelf was the same date. I went in a few days later and all four packets was still on the shelf

Very poor of that branch of Costcutters though the 2nd January was probably the best by date rather than use by as the biscuits would just get stale after then though my meat would become unsafe within a day or so.

You are, of course, right about the “best by” rather than the “use by” date right El. My mistake

I wouldn’t eat meat that has passed its “use by” date on any account

Very sensible

I would have got the meat on 29 December. It was fairly obvious then that some form of lockdown would be coming and would be announced imminently. I had put the meat at the back of the fridge.
No lockdown had been announced by 1 January so I did my normal shopping, having forgotten that I had bought the meat in advance so bought some more.
(Lockdown was announced on the 4th)

Evening all

Weather was dry and sunny so after housework, I prepped my raised bed. I won’t be planting till the risk of frost is over.

Mr Y spent most of the day cleaning his car - he could have done it in less than half the time if he hadn’t chatted (socially distanced) to everyone who passed.

I also believe in, “if it’s out of date, it goes in the bin”

Hope you’ve all had a good day

Hi Yogi

We had good weather here too. Not to warm and a little breezy but the sun made it bearable

I‘ve been up the park. Our mum is still on the nest. Any higher and it will need scaffolding

Dad was feeding in the pool. The cygnet was just, well being a cygnet

All the coot’s nests are still intact and have resident mums

My day was good, I hope yours was too

Moonie

That sounds promising if mum is still on the nest, Moonie 🤞🏻🤗

Good news about the coots’ nests too.

Glad your day was good, mine was too.

Goodnight and sweet dreams, Moonie and Ros

Good morning everyone

Very cloudy and rather chilly here.

Ros, that Night Tracks Mix programme on Radio 3 can be quite interesting. Pieces of music with the ending of one piece merging to the beginning of the next to create a sort of journey, Experimental, some times it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I hope everyone has a good day

Not planning on going out today but then I wasn’t yesterday either

Have a lovely day everyone

Moonie, if you didn't see the highlights of yesterday's match between Cheltenham and Tranmere, here's a link to them:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjGQ8zb6qcw
Cheltenham's best match of the season winning 4-0. The 4th goal would be a contender for goal of the season if Match of the Day included all main leagues.

Wow El, that was some fourth goal

It was . I was listening to the match on the radio and thought it worth finding a clip of it. (Don't have Sky - the match was shown live on their football channel).

Methinks you'll be recording Match of the Day this evening.

I have recorded it as it was on BT Sports El

What happened? Didn’t Chelsea turn up?

Mind you we was helped by a sending off for them but every point is received gratefully

Moonie, I won't spoil it by giving you the result but you will definitely want to watch it
