Sunny here at present. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday forecast to be rather warm getting to a high of 21° though temperatures then crash down.

Did anyone see the angry “pet” pheasant which chases the local postie on the BBC news this morning? What made me laugh was the postie’s skinny legs in red shorts and what appeared to be red tights.

I don’t know to be honest but I saw the smallest one disappear under the back gate toward front of the house. I have seen several squirrels out there before

Very blowy out there. I've been retrieving bits of polystyrene from the front. I think they've come from down the road, presumably from someone who had been a bit careless with their rubbish. It's not from my immediate neighbours.

Weather has been cold, wet and windy.
El, sometimes the bin lids lift if it’s windy and light stuff gets blown out - maybe that’s what happened with the polystyrene?

Hope all are ticking over       Lesser restrictions down South - built up all over the place. I know you don't buy into the hype at this stage but take it easy whatever. Got a sense of deja-vu about this especially in Wales. Hope I'm wrong

I can't recall ever seeing "Don't Bother to Knock" (1952) either
It's also has Marilyn Monroe and Anne Bancroft in early roles for them.
I note it was directed by the British director Roy Ward Baker. He also directed quite a number of episodes of British TV series from the 1960s and 70s such as The Avengers, The Saint, The Persuaders etc.
Also has Jeanne Cagney in. She had two brothers including James.

Was watching last night's "Beat the Chasers" and one of the questions was rather interesting..
Which of these three did Truman Capote (who wrote the book "Breakfast at Tiffany's" envisage for the part of Holly Golightly.
Grace Kelly, Doris Day or Marilyn Monroe.

Grace Kelly might have suited the part, but she married a few years before the film was made and had retired from acting.
Doris Day, I'm not convinced that would have worked. Strangely enough, Mike Nicholls had wanted her for Anne Bancroft's role in "The Graduate" but she refused the part.
Marilyn Monroe was the actress Capote had in mind,

A sunny day here with the temperature rising to 21°. Tomorrow forecast to be nearly as warm. Only for 2 days then the temperature drops - there's a forecast of sleet on Monday

The film "The Graduate" (1967) is, in film history, significant as it marks the end of the innocent age of comedies to a more cynical age, a move away from the Doris Day type of film. That's why Mike Nicholls had Doris Day in mind for the part of Mrs Robinson. Doris Day stopped making films by the following year.
