There’s a huge saddle in the precinct in Walsall. I’ve seen it many a time in the past

Hence the Walsall football team is nicknamed “the Saddlers”

My first teaching job was in walsall and family who lived there and still have family in Willenhall

Good morning everyone it's another cold morning noticeably chillier than it has been.

Thanks Moonie I wonder if the cygnets who have flown were the male cygnets? More of a threat to the male swan in residence.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone

Rather cloudy here. A gentle breeze, as it's coming from the north, it makes it feel cooler. The wind direction moves to the south-west from Monday.

I hope everyone has a good day

That’s a good point Squiggle. I never thought of that

I didn't know that, Moonie

Many years ago I had a client who was a dressage rider and is now a trainer. He's highly regarded in the world of dressage training, apparently in to the 50 trainers in the world. (Not Carl Hester who coaches Charlotte Dujardin who has won golds at the Olympics). All three are based in Gloucestershire.

I confess that watching dressage isn't exactly exciting

I used to have another client whose mother was a swimmer and had, many years ago, represented Britain at the Olympics. She didn't say that she had won any medals though,

There are four British women swimmers at the Olympics years ago with her first name, but they are not well known.

A very Happy Birthday to Yogi

Link to the Iranian 1975 film "The White Balloon" on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvfHvQRnITw
English subtitles are available via the subtitle icon there.

It was directed by Jafar Panahi. The main character is a little girl played by Aida Mohammadkhani.

It's U certificate. It's an extraordinarily good film and easy to follow what's going on.

Good morning everyone

Dull and drizzly here but the forecast is, overcast changing to sunny intervals in the afternoon. We shall see

I have just been out to feed the recycle bin. It’s not to cold actually

I hope you all have a nice day

Moonie, recycle bins do need to fed from time to time, otherwise they start moving away in search of fodder

My recycle box developed a hole at the bottom on one of the sides so I requested a replacement on the 22nd last month. As it didn't arrive I chased the council on Monday. This morning I found the replacement box where I had put the damaged one. No lid though.

I don't have any sympathy for this man
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-...nd-somerset-56462975
Stopped on the M5 for driving at 122 mph
Arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs
Said he was returning from Wales after getting a haircut there. (It's now legal for barbers & hairdressers in Wales since Monday but obviously driving there from England to get a haircut there isn't permitted) (he would have been stopped about 30 miles from the border with Wales)

They do El

I would be so upset as I’ve had him for such a long time

That’s simply not good enough

It’s disgraceful El

He should have his car confiscated and crushed. He should lose his license for a minimum or 12 months

I have found a plastic thing in the box. A soft crumpled item which I suppose is a hood to stretch over the top of the box and it's got a couple of ties. Haven't tried to see if it stretches across the top of the box. Doesn't look as if it would last very long and would be too flimsy to put anything else on top.

I have never heard of that before El

Since  I posted I tried it out on the box. It does stretch a bit and just about fits the box. I don't think it would last long though. Amazon seem to sell similar covers:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/GREEN...ECYCLE/dp/B01E7KGQGU
There's also the point that one couldn't put any other container on top. The above link mentions that it's waterproof so stops carboard & paper dry - but locally that's not relevant as those are recycled in a separate large strong sack (with a lid(.

A better day for Cheltenham winning their match this afternoon. Someone pointed out that it is now mathematically for Cheltenham to be relegated, not that it was likely this season

Well done to Cheltenham

The last time I looked it was 2-0 and I’m pleased to say that’s how it finished

Yes, 2-0 Salford did get the ball in the net but it was ruled out. As you probably know, Salford is part owned by 5 past Man U players who are well known (better known than the two American actors who recently bought Wrexham).
