Good morning one and all

Its windy but not much rain, so far

I probably won’t be going out today

Have a nice day everyone and stay safe

I've just returned from doing some local shopping as looking at the forecast this morning seems better than tomorrow morning when it will still be rather windy. Strongest gusts forecast for 4am tomorrow morning at 52mph locally,

El Loro

Evening all

It has been very windy with heavy rain all day.

Squiggle, as a teenager in the 70’s I would have probably have enjoyed seeing Showaddywaddy

El, you were sensible to do your shopping today before the bad weather arrives

Moonie, that’s exciting news about the big nest - maybe some new cygnets soon 🀞🏻
I hope everyone has had a good day

Hi Yogi

It’s been windy but little rain here. We are getting our high winds and heavy rain overnight and tomorrow by the looks of it

I hope you’re right. It would be lovely to have some baby cygnets around the place again

My day has been good fankoo, I hope yours has too in spite of the weather

Hi Moonie

Batten down the hatches

It would be great if there were some babies - a real spirit lifter

Glad your day was good, mine was fine too

Hi Yogi

Yes,  I think we are having the calm before the storm here. It’s very quiet outside. Nothing moving

Yes on both counts 😁😁😁

Fankoo and glad you had a fine day

Moonie

Good morning everyone

Not as bad a night weather wise as I was expecting. Very windy but not much rain. One of my wheelie bins was blown over but as luck would have it, it was an empty one

We don’t appear to have suffered any damage

It was sunny earlier but it’s clouding over now. Still quite windy. The weather warning for today is still showing on the Met Office weather site

Have a nice day but stay safe

Moonie, I think it more likely that an empty wheelie bin would get blown over as it's lighter than one which is full so heavier

As I had a Halifax account which has just matured and the new interest rate was very low I'm in the process of transferring it. Opening one with the Leeds and transferring the money from Halifax to my Lloyds current account was the easy part. Transferring it from Lloyds to Leeds isn't so easy. Lloyds need me to ring them to approve the transfer. Waiting to get through, 26 minutes so far. They said answering would take longer due to the lockdown and fewer staff. They said to expect an hour wait.

That’s a good point El

It looks like you will have time to go and make a cuppa then

That great

It was certainly worth the wait

Interest rates are very poor at present.  Leeds better than many others at 0.45% for a 1 year bond (and slightly higher for longer term but interest rates might start creeping up over the next year). The Leeds one is only on offer for the rest of this month and may be into early April.  I'm only referring to better known institutions.

Some lovely pictures there El and that mermaids tail is just stunning

And a little film question. Excluding animated films can anyone name the following films with a mermaid in. Year of release and first letter of title (first letter of each word where more than one word):
Easiest (1984) S
Fairly easy and was followed by a sequel)  (1948) M
Hardest (also 1948) M P A T M
All three films have been on television in recent years.

Afternoon all, just a flying visit.

Weather has been quite windy with heavy showers and the odd sunny spell.

Moonie, I’m glad the weather wasn’t as bad as expected last night.

El, the mermaid’s tail is gorgeous but it will be really cold swimming in that sea!

It’s Masterchef tonight and tomorrow night at 8pm so I won’t be around until Saturday. See you then
