Still Baltic and we still have snow.

We haven’t had any scam calls in the last few days but Mr Y wasn’t impressed when he got a cold call today on his mobile, asking if he wanted to take out a funeral plan

I’m not surprised that driver was pulled over and charged.

The snow art is lovely

Not quite as cold as yesterday here, about zero outside at present, fairly sunny, no frost. Temperature forecast to recover on Sunday.

Yogi, at least the temperature seems to have recovered across the UK by Sunday so your snow should be going then

There had been a yellow warning for my area tomorrow but that's been lifted though still another cold day.

We didn’t have a ground frost last night, which surprised me as it was really cold

We are only set to reach 0° with a “feel like” temperature of -7 today

I’m not planning to venture out today

I know which side my bread’s buttered

Moonie, a high of 2° here though the feel like is also -7°.

The humidity seems to be lower today which I think is why there was no ground frost - the less water in the air, the less there is to freeze into frost.

Was trying to watch something on BBC iplayer when my computer stalled. Was able to come out of iplayer only to find that nothing was working. Switched off the computer, waited and switched back on. Then there was a sudden power cut. Power came back so I switched on again. Discovered that the internet connection was out. Turned off the superhub, turned it back on and eventually connection restored.

By the way, the power cut affected other houses here, it wan't just my house so couldn't have been caused by my computer.

Emeric Pressburger is best known for his work with Michael Powell. They shared credits as writers/directors - Pressburger's background was as writer and Powell's as director. Although Powell directed many films besides the Pressburger ones, Pressburger only directed one film by himself.

"Twice Upon a Time" (1953). I've never seen it and don't know if it's ever been shown on television. It's a comedy film about two sisters who are separated when their parents divorce. They meet again by chance at a holiday camp and decide to get their parents reunited. Best known actor in it was Jack Hawkins. Pressburger adapted it from a German book. It has been remade a number of times, the best known being "The Parent Trap" (1961)  (Hayley Mills), remade in 1998 (Lindsay Lohan).

Several films made also called "Twice Upon a Time" and there was a Doctor Who episode of that name. So doing searches for video clps of the Pressburger film are more likely to result in referring to those.
