Lovely day here, had the dog for a nice walk, she is now having a nap!

I wouldn't want to drop someone in it, and as it was my grandson who talked to the guy we don't have his name, but thanks for the advice, it is appreciated

Lucky you Yogi to be able to go see that view for a short break.

Yes i understand that squiggle, but a bit of training wouldnt go amiss! I have edited my spelling error, getting my new specs on Friday

It certainly sounds as if he needs it, and if he keeps that lark up he will probably be receiving some pretty sharpish   Lovely new specs (don't they cost a bomb nowadays though), I have been having mine re-glazed if the frames are still good (sort of personal double glazing)

We've been up in that area quite a few times, Squiggle. I love the peace and quiet and the scenery is so beautiful.

Your lovely photo has prompted me to speak to Mr Yogi about another visit this year.

Oh, I like the sound of that, Skylark.

I am due to go for a check-up soon, but I'm dreading the size of the bill.

Stranger and stranger. The previous treasurer has rung me back and I told him about the letter. He couldn't remember what was said, but said he would get in touch with the secretary and come back to me.

Just now he rang back to say that he had spoken with the secretary. He hadn't been at the meeting but the secretary told him that she thought that the letter had been sent to me in error and that I would still be doing the work. I asked him to ask the secretary to write to me again so that my position is clear.

That reminds me of me and my daughter's favourite quote from Toy Story 2, when Mr. Potato Head is off with the others for a confrontation, Mrs Potato Head says I have packed your angry eyes, I love that

Goodnight Skylark, I'm signing out too.

Goodnight Squiggle and anyone else who pops in.

good evening/good morning when you see this Squiggle, I have view envy, that is absolutely stunning I hope you've all had a nice day, I did- I went to the great Yorkshire show with my SIL, we loved the goats, highland cows, owls & donkeys, and enjoyed the gundog demo and falconry displays. We saw prince Charles & camilla, they walked by us within 3 feet! (surrounded by security of course) I prepared for wet weather but neglected to take sun cream, it was cloudy with sunny spells but I still came home with a pink face I ate a pork & venison hotdog, a crepe with nitrous & banana and had chocolate fondue with a marshmallow & strawberry scewer It was my first visit and I can't wait to go again next year

She is more involved with admin so doesn't glow.(the old saying horses sweat, men perspire, but ladies glow). For reasons best know to herself, when the flies were at their peak she decided to test this.

She went to a swarm of flies and stuck her arm in the swarm. She didn't get bitten at all.(I hope she never gets a job at lion taming )

Peronally I think she was being very reckless. My client suffered from lots of bites including two very close to his eyes. The flies stopped about a month ago but he still has the scabs covering his arms, and throughout the time I was there I saw that he often rubbed his arms.

I didn't tell them that some time ago a fisherman was bitten by those flies. He died 11 months later and it is believed that it was as a result of those bites.

It is frightening, but I don't know the circumstances behind it. It may be that the fisherman neglected to get any treatment. I do know that the main problem with Blandford fly bites is that if left untreated, the bite can become septic, and that is very serious. Of course, people can die from bee stings if they develop anaphylactic shock. That is comparatively common. One of my clients used to keep bees. He was frequently stung and developed an intolerance to them. His doctor told him that if he ever got stung again he would die. Obviously he stopped immediately - his wife who is a nurse made sure of that.

Adder bites can also kill, but that is very rare. Many years ago I, my brother and our parents were climbing down Leckhampton Hill near The Devil's Chimney which is a landmark on the hill. It was a very steep slope and somewhat overgrown. My mother went first and I was following. Suddenly she told me to stop immediately and to climb back up. She saw that I was just about to walk into a nest of young vipers
