Good morning everyone it's not quite as cold but it still feels chilly to me, a dry morning with rain this afternoon.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Some sunshine here, forecast is to cloud over and rain by evening. Not quite as cold as yesterday.
Cheltenham were beaten by Portsmouth 0-3.

Portsmouth were the better side, they are the holders of the EFL Trophy, and they are contenders for promotion to the Championship.

I guess if they promotion contenders then, even though itâs not easy to stomach, they are worthy of their win, maybe

Clearly their aim in the long term is to get back to the Premiership

Why do footballers, usually continental ones, kiss their wrists after crossing themselves, as they leave the pitch?

Apparently some have a tattoo of a loved one on their wrist which they kiss after scoring a goal. A Talksport article about Luis Suarez:

Crossing oneself is a Christian act. Kissing one's hand may be done by a Catholic particularly if they are holding a rosary. I'm not aware that kissing one's wrist is.

One of them has a triple rainbow and another a Brocken spectre (explanation of that is under that photo).

Did some local shopping. Went past some roadworks which must be emergency as they aren't shown on the roadworks map. Must be either a watermains leak or a gas leak.

I have just shopped at my local shops. In the actual shop the cash machine had no money in. So I went to the usual one I go to. Less than a hundred yards away. Got my cash. There is a concrete bollard about 40cm high what the shop used to attach its sign to when the wind is blowing.
Usually when I move away from the machine I turn to my left so that I miss it. Today I turned to my right, for some unknown reason. Two grazes and a hefty bruise on my shin
I put a cold compress on it when I got home. Itâs stopped bleeding but I will have a hefty bruise come tomorrow I know

Poor you
The film "The Lavender Hill Mob" is on BBC Two this afternoon. The funniest of all of Ealing comedies and Alec Guinness is brilliant. That;s the one with the Eiffel Tower. Also in a very small role is Audrey Hepburn before she became a star. No difficulty in recognisimg her.
Apparently Valerie Singleton is in the film. She's not credited, and IMDB lists her as a girl. I don't know if she says anything. She would have been 13 or 14 at the time the film was made. Over 10 years before she started in Blue Peter so she may not be recognisable. She doesn't play the part of June Edwards, the girl at the Eiffel Tower. She is on record as saying that she was in the film so it's not a myth.

That would be rather surprising - Pope Paul the second was pope from 1464 to 1471
I think you mean Pope John Paul the second wore Doc Martens

Easy done
Pope Donus was pope from 676 to 678.
At one time the non-existent Pope Donus the second was mistakenly included in the official list of popes. As a result, it's unlikely that donuts were named after him
