Good morning everyone it's an extremely cold morning for November almost freezing temperatures, wrap up warm everyone if you venture out. If it's like this where you are Moonie you might be taking your washing in with it frozen stiff. I remember doing this when I was a child you could stand the items up!

Enjoy your day everyone

Hi squiggle

We had a -1 the other night but not to bad on the whole

Funnily enough I remember fetching washing in for my mum that was a stiff as a board

Have a great day

Moonie

Another batch of emails to clients. The third grant for the self employment income support scheme which was originally set at 20%, then increased to 40%, then on Monday to 55% has been increased to 80% this morning. Capped at £7,500. So works out the same amount as the first grant. No news on the fourth grant (covers February to April next year).

Criteria slightly different to the first two grants.

To be eligible for the third and fourth grants, taxpayers must:

  • have been previously eligible for the first and second SEISS grants (although they do not need to have claimed the previous grants),
  • declare that they intend to continue to trade and either
    - are currently actively trading, but are impacted by reduced demand due to coronavirus, or
    - were previously trading, but are temporarily unable to do so due to coronavirus.

Didn't take too long for me to do. I've been sending these emails as bcc ones so send one bulk email to them. Just add today's message on to the previous one I sent on Monday

Evening all

A dry and chilly day.

Lots of fireworks going off. No fireworks displays so more people are setting them off in their gardens.

lol I love Mr and Mrs White Christmas...that has to be the best name ever.

I hope you’ve all had a good day

Good morning everyone

Sunny cold start here, coldest of the season so far.

Engineers working to see if they can use ammonia to power big ships:

Anyone who has been in a chemistry lab when at school will know that ammonia is rather smelly and smelling salts are based on ammonia.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone

A sunny start to the day here. The field at the bottom of my garden is shrouded in mist. It’s just like one of those old Hammer horror films

We are set for sunshine here all day. Let’s wait and see

El, I see they have changed the weather symbols on the Met Office weather site

They are rather ‘dark’ now

Have a great day everyone

Moonie, I hope there are no hounds in your field
Link to the 1939 version of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce) which is a very good film,

Sir Henry Baskerville is an early role for an actor who became known for a television series years later - the one with the most famous theme song ever for a TV series.

I had noticed that the symbols used by the Met Office had changed earlier this week.

I have just been down the garden. I never came across any wolves though El

That version of the Hound of the Baskervilles is simply the very best one. Newer efforts have been tried since then but not a patch on the original

I always watch it when I see its scheduled

Moonie, I'm glad there are no hounds at the bottom of your garden

I agree with you re that version. I haven't seen a better one. The fact that it's made in black and white rather than in colour is a plus as it adds to the atmosphere on the moor.
