I have live Hurling on now El

You could do some serious damage with one of those hurling sticks

You certainly could do serious damage
Some time ago I watched a 1958 film called "Rooney".  Set in Dublin, though not with Irish leads. About a rubbish collector who plays hurling at weekends. There's a bit of hurling seen during the film but not a lot. Film is watchable but nothing exceptional. The film is available on Youtube if you really want to watch it.

Hi El

I noticed the time on your post is 1/11/2020 @ 9-45. How can that be?

That's due to the States changing their clocks (when their daylight saving time ended this morning). That hour difference happens for any posts made in the hour of change, So my post would have been made at 8.45 but gets shown as 9.45. I think that only applies to posts made at our 8.00 to 8.59 am. Quite often I'm the only person posting at that time.
In the States their DST starts on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November.

I just noticed something, in the last re-shuffle did all the threads lose their likes? You'll probably know the answer EL, what a shame if that happened.

Squiggle, I'm not aware  that threads have lost their likes. Can you post a link to one you think has. The icon of 3 small circles  with lines making it look like  a < Copy link to reply at the bottom right of each post. Click that and then paste into your reply box.

Well all of them EL. Perhaps they went a while ago and I'm just unobservant. The Buddies thread used to have 16 likes for the thread not individual posts and I was rather fond of that as some of them were from people who are no longer with us.

Squiggle, there was a change when the forum moved from version 1 to 2 back in June. What happened was that likes which had been made on the thread (rather than replies) were shown as hearts on the very first post, the one you made back in 2010.

You will see 15 hearts and you see all the people who had liked this thread if you go over the heart symbol there.

If you look at the Big Brother list of topics, you will see that the third entry for this thread is a heart from Velvet. A quirk of this site is that if a thread has been liked, the third entry shows the like made by the first person shown on the list of those who have liked it.

I would use your version

Let's see what the others think

It's quite possible that my mother pronounced croquette in the same way as my brother. My parents did pronounce a few words in a different way to most people. They insisted on pronouncing the word asssume as a-zoom much as the sume in presume is. Azoom. azoomed, azumption.
