My late father when he was a youngish man went up in the tower you see. Wouldn't have been allowed to go right to the top or outside though.
Incidentally there's some surprises in the cathedral. One is a stained glass window showing a golfer - that's from about 1350.

I found those links unusual for a cathedral El

When I went to visit a friend in South Yorkshire a few years ago we went to visit a rather unusual parish church in Chesterfield.

As you will probably know, it’s the Church of St Mary and All Saints otherwise known as the Crooked Spire Church. We went inside and with permission, took some photos which I still have on one of my external hard drives.

Awe inspiring both inside and out

And that's why the nickname of Chesterfield FC is the 'Spireites'
