Evening all
A dry and bright day.
We tried putting the ground sanctuary back on the lawn but the squirrel was back within half an hour, scratching up the lawn. We are going to stop feeding the birds for a couple of weeks in the hope that heâll find another garden to raid instead of ours.
Havenât read back yet, I hope youâve all had a good day
Goodnight and sweet dreams, Ros and Moonie.
Hug for any night owls
night yogi moonsie velvetsummer if you pop in
Good morning everyone it's a little brighter this morning, let's hope the sun shines for everyone today.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Quite sunny here.
Total rainfall for August shown by my very local weather recording site was 164.6 mm.
Yogi, that's a pity about the naughty squirrel
I hope everyone has a good day
Met Office has issued the storm names for the 2020/21 season (they use 1 September to the following 31 August),
Got a phone call from the treasurer of the large job I've been working on recently. He wanted me to make an adjustment to the draft accounts. When I asked him for specific details of the adjustment to make, it didn't make sense to me. So I queried this with him and it dawned on him that the change related to the 2020/21 accounts rather than the 2019/20 accounts I was working on. So no adjustment to make. At least I realised before I wasted time wrongly adjusting the accounts
Evening all
We had a good time with the tiddlers.
No sign of the squirrel today
Good job you queried the adjustment before you did the work, El.
Hope youâve all had a good day.
Goodnight and sweet dreams, Ros.
Hug for Moonie and any night owls
night yogi glad you had a lovely time with the tiddllersmoonsie velvet summer
Good morning everyone it's a cloudy sky this morning. A little while ago the sky went really red, just like a sunset. So I was thinking 'red sky in the morning shepherd's warning' but it was a bit odd because the window I was looking out of faces West not East. Puzzling!
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Some sunshine here. A band of rain forecast for later. Squiggle, that's strange to see a red sky in the west in the morning
Yogi, I'm glad you had a good time with the tiddlers
I hope everyone has a good day
Shockwave equivalent to 8 Suns exploding at the same time reached us May last year. Caused by two black holes colliding a long time ago and the shockwave took some seven billion years to get here.

It has rained all day
Apart from housework and washing, we havenât done very much today.
Hope youâve all had a good day

Read about this EL fascinating and awe inspiring-the amount of time of the collision and the blip it caused is beyond my comprehension

Good morning everyone it's a mizzly sort of morning, not very cheerful to wake up to. Hope it's better where you are.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Very overcast here and could be a rainy day.
I hope everyone has a good day
Some years ago I had a pudding from M&S which was in a small hard plastic container. The container was too good to throw away so I washed it and kept it as a small glass which I can use when I want a small amount of water to sip. Today I managed to drop it in such a way that it rolled behind my gas cooker. The cooker is between cupboards either side with a 2 inch gap. So impossible to get to the glass with just using hands.
I have a long wooden stick with a hook on the end which is intended to be used for opening the loft and getting the ladder down. I was able to use that to knock the glass against a cupboard then use the hook to drag the glass towards me so that I could pick it up. Being plastic meant that it didn't break. Gave it a good wash and put it safely away.
Success

Hope youâve all had a good day

Only had one squirrel in fourteen years. Came as soon as he went. I think it was Marty Hopkirk.
Hope all are well top down, including you!

Good morning everyone it's an overcast morning with a dry day forecast. As they say EL necessity is the mother of invention, well done you.
Enjoy your day everyone
Morning squiggs
Mother is indeed the necessity of invention. It takes two wire coat hangers cut off at the bendy bit, with pliers, to pull a reasonably modern car radio out the car. When you change the battery you need the radio code - which is written on side of said unit. Digital dashboards fill me with horror- I like simple analogue.
Feel better soon @Moonie
Hope all is well
Good morning everyone
Cloudy here.
Moonie, I hope you feel better soon
I hope everyone has a good day
One of the clients I wrote to recently re their tax returns has contacted me. He's delivering his documents next Tuesday afternoon.
So I'll have some work to do next week
Looks as if a single return rather than a double return is now all that's needed to separate paragraphs in our replies.
All I need is a single to NZ El
I can't watch it or take it anymore. I'm close to voting for independence but I thought of one drawback in my bed. The port to Europe is Dover and that's economies of scale. And it's England.
I will never vote SNP to placate my friend in Renfrewshire
Leith couldn't handle that and it's miles from a dual carriageway never mind motorway.
Basically, I'm fed up.
