Good morning everyone it's a little brighter this morning. We had storms rumbling around most of yesterday and like you said Yogi it's been very close.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Forecast is hot and humid here, possible thunderstorms later.
I hope everyone has a good day
Advance warning. Locally here, there are thunderstorms forecast from later on Wednesday through to Friday morning with 90mm of rain. Thursday evening from 21.00 to 24.00 there could be nearly 40mm. If that happens there will be many homes flooded due to flash flooding. So if I'm not around here on Thursday or more likely Friday you will know why. Hopefully, it won't be as bad as that.
You stay safe whatever. I've noticed it's problematic down there
I think I'm going for Aladdin Sane today but hope all are Hunky Dory.
Take care
Not a big Bowie fan, I've seen him, but he rejected a knighthood. Good standard.

A little rain here last night but no thunderstorms
Oppressive overnight so not much sleep
Overcast start to the day but set to reach 29° later. A thunderstorm storm set for the evening. We shall see
Have a great day everyone

That's why there could be bad thunderstorms here. Met Office shows them here for tomorrow afternoon, BBC shows them almost all the time from tomorrow evening through to Friday morning. Very different forecasts with the BBC one a lot worse than the Met one.

The weather site which had been showing 90mm of rain from Wednesday night to Friday morning has changed the forecast to 40mm. Thursday night still very wet but 19mm rather than 40mm. Very wet but a lesser risk of many homes being flooded due to flash flooding,

The UK's first Dutch-style roundabout (at Cambridge) had to close due to damage the day before it was due to be officially opened.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-...bridgeshire-53736468
The idea is that pedestrians and cyclists have priority over motorists. As you can see in the photos in the article there are zebra crossings for pedestrians. The roundabout has an outer red circular lane for cyclists and an inner ordinary circular lane for motorists.

A man is currently on trial on charges of contaminating food and blackmail, Baby food jars with slivers of metal in found by 2 customers of Tesco and he's accused of demanding money from Tesco to reveal to them which stores had these jars
Trial is continuing:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-...incolnshire-53737345
The pseudonym which he is accused to have been using was ""Guy Brush and the Dairy Pirates".
I hope if he's found guilty, they'll lock him up and lechuck the keys away. That's not a typo. If you've ever played any of the Monkey Island adventures games over the years, you'll get it.

Rain in the morning and sunshine in the afternoon.

The main award at the annual Cannes film festival is known as the Palm d'Or.
For the last 20 years they've also had a Palm Dog award.
This year had to be different so they decided to award the award for the best film performance since 2001. No prizes for guessing the judges' choice
IMDB has a clip about this:

Clip also has Toto from The Wizard of Oz and also mentions Rin-Tin-Tin who was the first canine star. "Where the North Begins" can be seen on Youtube but there's no sound track.

You got one over on the BBC then El?
@Moonie posted:You got one over on the BBC then El?
Not really. When I was a child I read Charles Kingsley's The Water Babies. I also read Charles and Mary Lamb's Tales from Shakespeare. Both books were written for children but a long time ago. Mary Lamb was Charles's sister. So when I saw the name Mary Kingsley, I initially confused her with Mary Lamb. I then found that Mary Kingsley was Charles Kingsley's younger daughter.
(they have no connection with Ben Kingsley, that's not his real name)
