Talking Pictures is showing the 1954 film "Child's Play" this afternoon. I think it would have been made for children's Saturday morning matinees at cinemas in the days those were common.
Surprisingly watchable though unrealistic - father of one of the children is a scientist and gives his son an atomic chemistry set.

One of the children is played by Christopher Beeny. Of the adult cast, the best known is Mona Washbourne.
In a minor part, Bill the van driver is played by Peter Sallis. The science shown in the film is as plausible as that of Wallace and Gromit though the film is played straight rather than as a comedy.

El Loro

It's on El. I'm sick of buying property abroad. Soon to be a lot trickier that is.

Anyway, hope all are okay       Dunno if it's warm enough in the west to see thunderstorms in the next few days but we'll see. I can remember hiding under the bed on someones instructions. I'd take those days back.

Stick in, stay safe - you know the score. It's Ennio

The overflowing rice reminded me of an old Brothers Grimm folk story about an overflowing pot of porridge

Lotte Reiniger was renowned for her animation using silhouettes. Here's a sample of her work - "Snow-White and Rose-Red". This is another Brothers Grimm story. The Snow-White in this one is not the well known Snow White,
It's charming in a sweet and innocent way.
A word of warning - STOP WATCHING IT IMMEDIATELY YOU SEE "THE END" AT THE END. THERE'S A TECHNICAL PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS WHICH RESULTS IN A SERIOUSLY PAINFUL SOUND DISTORTION.
Posting a link to the Youtube clip rather than embedding it as it's best seen full screen and may be easier to stop in time before the noise.
