Lovely day here, been out doing a bit shopping. Got a nice pair of sandals in a sale for a fiver, so well pleased with that. i do like a bargain!

For a split second I read that as sandals in a sail on a river

I've been cracking up for years now. Pollyfilla (especially for parrots) helps a bit though.

Good afternoon everyone.    We have thunder and lightening and lots of rain here at the moment!!  It was very hot and sticky overnight and very hot again this morning but, thankfully, the air is a little clearer now.  Just hope my electric doesn't go out with the storm as I'm cooking hubby a roast chicken dinner tonight.

Hope your son got on okay back at work today Skylark.  Well done with the shopping bargain.

Much love to all my lovely buddies.

Joyron

Good morning everyone   Glad you got some sunshine at last Yogi and that Keira had a playmate.  Skylark I hope your daughter is feeling better this morning, things always look better after a night's sleep. Its good to know too that your son had a good day at work and his hand is healing nicely.  How was your roast chicken dinner Joyron?  No power cuts I hope.

Its a lovely day today, a mix of blue sky and big fluffy clouds.  I got such a lot done yesterday, most of the house cleaned, washed the car, sprayed the weeds on the drive.  Just got to finish off the floors downstairs and then input some more recipes into our cookbook.

Your fete on Saturday sounds as if it will be a great success if the sun shines EL, hope all goes well.

Good morning everyone.    It's sunny but not too hot here today.  The storms yesterday really did clear the air and it was a lot more comfortable sleeping last night.  Fortunately the electric didn't go out and dinner was on time.

Skylark, you are certainly having a time of it at the moment what with your son's injury and now looking after your daughter following her fall out with her boyfriend.  Just make sure you take some time for yourself too.  Love you all.

Joyron

Hi Yogi things are progressing well.  We are just trying to round up recipes, you know what its like people promise to give you a recipe but don't quite get around to it.  I reckon we need at least 20 contributors to make it a viable book.  Some have done more than one, one friend has given me 6, most with little tips throughout which makes it very interesting.  I am aiming for at least 30 pages and we plan to sell for ÂĢ5 with all the proceeds going to The Leprosy Mission (I am paying for the printing).  Does that sound a reasonable cost to you?

I had a phone call today from someone who will need some help from an accountant. Her son is severely disabled and she and her husband are full time carers for him. Presumably the son is an adult and so they had to go to the Court of Protection to be able to manage his financial affairs etc. As part of this they have to send annual accounts to the Court of Protection and that is where my services are needed.

This is not something I've been involved in the past, so at this stage I have not committed myself as I want to see what is involved. I need to assess how much work is involved as I don't want to find myself involved in days of work and be stuck with a fee which is hopelessly low.

I think you are right to be cautious EL, could this be something that The Citizens Advice Bureau could help them with I wonder.

Good morning everyone

Another sunnyish day, but may be the odd shower.

Squiggle, I'm not sure that the Citizens Advice Bureau would spend time on completing someone's accounts, they might advise on how to complete then rather than doing them. The woman who rang me had been doing thee accounts herself for a few years but doesn't have the time to spend on doing them which suggests to me that this isn't the type of work which someone could do in a few minutes. She used to get another accountant to do the accounts but he retired.

Good morning everyone, a bit overcast here today disappointingly   I am off out later and am now sitting here wondering whether to change the crochet cardigan I am wearing for a slightly warmer one I'll wait and see I think.

I don't know much about the CAB EL because I haven't used their services but I knew they gave free legal advice and I thought they might do the same for accountancy.  Oh well they say ignorance is bliss so I must be a very happy bunny indeed
