Good morning everyone
Cloudy and breezy here but not to bad a start to the day
No rain expected until afternoon.
A little shopping, then some gardening after breakfast I think. Well thatβs the plan anyway
Have a nice day Buddies

The music in the current MoneySupermarket advert (the one with the calm bull)
Hi El
I hadnβt seen you do your usual early morning post so I was just about to organise a search party

That's because mine was at the bottom of the page so you'd missed it
Found this by chance, The music is from Vincenzo Bellini's opera Norma. This very short animation is called "Maestro" and was created by Illogic Collective.
Illogic Collective is a group of French animators. I wouldn't be surprised if they become a major force in film animation in the future.

Sad to hear that Olivia de Havilland died yesterday, she was 104:

Hope you got your shopping and gardening done, Moonie.
El, I liked Olivia de Havilland, she was a good actress....and she lived to a good age.
Goodnight and sweet dreams, Ros and Moonie

Good morning everyone it's a little cloudy this morning but I don't think the forecast is too bad for today.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Raining here and a wet day, easing off later.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone
Very wet and still raining here. Set to rain all day
*prods El* Yes, definitely you
Enjoy the day despite the weather
The Film 4 people have a sense of humour sometimes with their film scheduling. Today they've got the Robert Powell version of "The 39 Steps". That's followed by "Carry on Regardless". That's the one set at an employment agency - one of the sketches has Kenneth Connor's version of "The 39 Steps" with the train sequence

Doubt if there'll be any cricket today at the Test match. Hopefully there will be play tomorrow though there's still a risk of some rain during the day.

The weather forecast isnβt brilliant. We will have to wait and see how it pans out
BBC collection of photos by Terry O'Neill of famous people taken in the 1960s and 70s.

11 photos in all.
My favourite by a long way is of course the 4th one.
The 7th one is amusing.
Finally confirmed that no play possible today in the Test Match because of the rain. Better chance of play tomorrow though there's still rain around in the morning.
@El Loro posted 24/06/2020:Talking Pictures are showing a fascinating documentary on Friday at 7.15 in the morning. It's "The Conquest of Everest" (1953). The definitive documentary made during the most famous moutaineering expedition of all time. And it's in colour. (Edmund Hillary was a bee-keeper when he wasn't climbing mountains). The narration would have been added after the expedition as it's by Meredith Edwards who was an actor and not involved with the expedition.
Got around to watching "The Conquest of Everest" last night. Very good documentary and shows what a team effort it was. Good photography in glorious colour and sound.
The copy of the documentary Talking Pictures used was much better quality than a version I found on Youtube or on DailyMotion.
If you want to watch it, if Talking Pictures doesn't show it again, this BFI version is reasonable:

Very heavy rain for most of the day. It has gone off now. No washing on the line for me, Moonie.
El, I love the pic of Audrey Hepburn - lovely lady, inside and out.
My car wouldnβt start on Friday so Mr Y took me to the hospital in his. During shielding, my car has only moved for my monthly hospital visits so the battery had gone flat. We got it going when we got home but thought we ought to take it for a little run today. Fortunately, it started first time and the battery should have a decent charge now.
Any word of your choirs starting back, Ros?
Goodnight and sweet dreams, Ros and Moonie.

Good morning everyone it's a fairly bright morning and should be a better day than yesterday.

Good morning everyone
Similar weather here as Squiggle's - brighter and possibly no rain.
Yogi, I'm glad you were able to get your car battery recharged
Ros, it's sad that singing in enclosed places is out for the time being
I hope everyone has a good day
So England win the third test against West Indies and get the Wisden Trophy forever.
Got a phone call from someone just now about cheaper electricty bills. Don't normally get these after 5 pm. I think the man ringing me had no idea what the time was - the way he was talking makes me think he was drunk Fake phone number.

Good morning everyone it's a bright morning and the forecast for the week ahead looks good. Getting warm on Friday then cooler at the weekend.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Sunnier here today than yesterday. Tomorrow forecast as a warm day, Friday a hot day, then temperature back down by Saturday.

Good morning everyone
Dry and bright so weβre going to do some gardening.
El, my βthumbs downβ is for the call you got and not your post
Weβve been getting the Amazon scam calls - we just hang up.
Ros, itβs such a shame that singing seems to spread Covid so choirs canβt start back yet
Have a good day and stay safe
Yogi, I had realised why you had the thumbs down on my reply
I've been getting lots of those fake Amazon scam calls. I just put the phone down on them as you do. No point in complaining to Amazon about them as it's nothing to do with them so other than warn people there's little they can do.
By the way, people are unable to sign in to their Virgin Media account at present and don't get past the log in page. It's a known problem by VM who say it should be fixed by 16.00. So you can't access their email browser at present. The email system is still working so if you use an external email browser to access VM emails that's still working.
