Though no sign of the memory stick. First class letter post to here no longer means that it will arrive the following day. I've had letters from my brother which have taken the best part of a week to get here even though sent first class.

I had seen that WBA had been promoted
Apaprently there's no real place called East Bromwich. West Bromwich was so called to differentiate it from Castle Bromwich which is a village about 8 miles to the east.

It seems to be okay here El

I have heard of Castle Bromwich

Never been there though

It's just a case of waiting for that memory stick to arrive. It's not essential that I get started next week. I am still waiting to get (online) the documents from another client to do their VAT return and I would have to do that as soon as I get it so that it gets filed on time.

Pretty stressful time for you then El?

No, it's not stressful. If I haven't had the documents for the VAT return by first thing on Monday, I'll email the client again. I generally aim to file the return by the end of the month (a week tomorrow). The actual deadline isn't until the 7th but I imply to the client it's the 31st to give me a bit of leeway. It's something I can get done within a day provided there's nothing missing. It's all done online so I'm not relying on the postal system

The third (and last) cricket test match against West Indies starts today at Manchester. Although it's likely there will be a full day's play today, the chances of any play at all tomorrow is extremely remote. May get a full day on Sunday unless the start is delayed due to the ground being too wet. Not much chance of any play at all on Monday. Might get some play towards the end of the last day on Tuesday. So a draw is the most likely outcome which means that West Indies retain the Wisden trophy (they won the last series so in the event of a tie in this series they retain it).

El Loro

It's the last test match with the Wisden Trophy. Future test series between England and West Indies will be for a trophy called the Richards-Botham.

The Wisden trophy was first awarded in 1963 to commemorate the 100th edition of the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack (the annual reference for cricket).
Richards-Botham needs no explanation.

Very true

The 2020-21 football season for the premier league and the English football leagues starts on 12 September and ends during May next year so some weeks later than in the past. Other than those teams including Cheltenham which were in the play off matches, most of the other teams in Leagues One and Two haven't played since early March.

Moonie, there's a tiny bit of blue sky here as well but it's expected to be mainly cloud. And in the last few minutes the Met Office has issued a warning for thunderstorms from noon to midnight. In my area, the main risk of that seems to be around 16.00,

 That’s not good El.

Its actually raining here now

I thought the dry weather wouldn’t last long and I was right, for  change

Evening all

Showery in the morning but dry in the afternoon.

Moonie, El and Squiggle, the tiddlers were on good form, and so pleased to see us again yesterday

Hope you enjoyed your lunch break, Summer.

I hope you’ve all had a good day.

Hi Yogi

We have had two showers today considering the weather forecast said it was going to rain most of the afternoon

I managed to dry washing too

I can just imagining how happy you all was to see each other
