Watched a Luc Besson film I'd recorded some time ago. It could have been quite good but wasn't. He's a French director who is a bit like Tim Burton makes very imaginative films which don't quite work but one wonders if one day they'll make a truly wonderful film. The film I saw is a bit like his "The Fifth Element" (Bruce Willis) which is very watchable in a strange way. It had its moments but, overall, not worth watching. A little clip which might amuse you Title of the film starts with Valerian but that's the name of the lead character and nothing to do with the plant though I confess I fell asleep whilst watching

Good morning everyone

It’s rained much of the night and is still raining now. More expected for the rest of the day

El, I heard earlier that the covers had come off so there is a possibility, though I would think it won’t amount to much, like you say

Have a nice day everyone

If there is any play today I wouldn't be surprised if the team winning the toss opts to bowl first rather than bat, particularly of it's the West Indies - their fast bowlers could wipe out England for a very low score.

No Geoffrey Boycott there as he's retired from the BBC commentary team. I really liked him though I know that others didn't. Extremely knowledgable and forthright with his views.
Link to an article about his grandmother - it's amusing but is completely fictional.

I liked his Yorkshire drawl and his dry wit El

As you say, he was very knowledgeable too

I am watching a 1961 documentary about Waterloo station called Terminus. Fascinating

In one of the ‘scenes’ was a very very young Rodney Bewes

I watched that documentary some time ago. As you say, it's fascinating. An early film by John Schlesinger (who can be seen as one of the passengers).

Cricket has started. England decided to bat first and they've already lost their first wicket - 0 for 1. 26 is the lowest ever score in test cricket.

I didn’t know it was a Schlesinger film. I did recognise him
