Hi Sweet

I’ve never seen a deer or heard a woodpecker β€˜in real life’ Sweet. You are lucky

Hehe! Yogi didn’t see me

I’m so sorry I missed your post, Summer

How fabulous to see a deer and hear a woodpecker

I totally agree that the lockdown has had some silver linings.

Good morning everyone

Fairly sunny and warm here today.

Yogi, you and Summer were posting virtually at the same time which is why you didn't see her post - I have missed posts as well for the same reason

I have seen deer in Oxford before but that's because there's a deer park near one of the universities

I've heard cuckoos many times during woodlands walks.

I hope everyone has a good day

Very interesting that El

It sort of reminded me of that James Mason version of Journey to the Centre of the Earth

That is one of the better films based on Jules Verne's novels. Not to be confused by the Kenneth More version (which has a slightly different title) - I haven't seen that one but that was a low budget Spanish film which was dubbed into English for the rest of the cast - both films are shown on television from time to time.

Afternoon troops

Hope all are well. And getting supplies. Never been so disillusioned by our great leaders ever but okay though.

Good news on the storks. Think Denmark have a few. Moons, is your park open? Our main one is shut. Mind you, Stay Home, Stay Safe, Protect Yourself !

Have a good day all, and all those related and close

Hi Velvet
I hope all is well with you and the family
Our park is always open. They removed all the fencing several decades ago

A warning on phishing emails being sent to people supposedly from HMRC chief executive, Jim Harra. Anyone who had been making claims under furlough or self-employment income support will have received genuine emails from him. Criminals are using his name to make it look as if an email is genuine.

The key is that any genuine email will not include any hyperlinks for people to click on whereas scammers will.

That current Muller advert:

I know it's not intended to be realistic but how many factual errors can you see during the advert (not related to the product itself)

The five factual errors I spotted in the advert were:
1 men and women had separate games in the ancient Greek Olympics
2 one reason for that was that the male athletes didn't wear any clothes whilst competing
3 The king seen during the advert would have had a crown made from laurel leaves, not a gold one
4 and he certainlly wouldn't have had boxer shorts , (would have been a loincloth)

5 my fifth error can be seen in the image seen above. The letter J didn't exist in the ancient Greek alphabet. At that time an apostrophe would have been used in from of an I so 'I It wouldn't have been pronouced as we say it but with a Y sound. That's still the case in some countries. So in Germany - "Yohann Sebastian Bark" - the k is almost silent and a bit strangled sound. In Hungary "Yo-hann-uh Konta"

In the International Phonetic Alphabet a J pronounced as a Y is called a yod.

And that is why you don't have a job in advertising El

Too truthful

Found this youtube clip of a promotional business trying to get accountants to get them to create adverts:

Any accountantcy practice using that advert in this country would get into trouble. We are not allowed to say anything such as "we are the best and leading accountanting firm" No comparisons with other practices are permitted.

(if you wonder what QB certified means in that clip, it's that the practice has been certified by Quick Books)

Good morning everyone

Fairly sunny here and expected to be a bit warmer than yesterday. Tomorrow is forecast to get to 24Β° but then lower by Thursday.

Squiggle, I posted on Summer's Downton Abbey thread that it's on ITV 3 Mondays to Fridays, start times vary from 6.30 pm to 7 pm depending on length of episode but seem to be timed to end by 8 pm.

I hope everyone has a good day
