Good morning everyone

A lovely sunny start to the day

Squiggle, I think you are right about the ants sending out advance party scouts.
I am happy to report there was not a single ant in the hall this morning so I am hopeful that the gel has worked but I shall continue to put it down for a few days, just to be sure.
Have a good day and stay safe, everyone

That’s good news Yogi

You too

Moonie

I've been working on some quite complex client work - accounting rather than tax. That client rang with a question on the format of the accounts. Can't go into details. Accounts have been done in the same format for a very long time - I don't know how long but a hundred years is quite possible (an entity, not a person). to change the format would be a minefield. Just imagine trying to revise the accounts for the last 100 years.

I did find some official guidance on the issue. The accounts done over the years folllow the default position so hopefully that will satisfy the client

There are three North Poles.
There's the geographic Noth Pole, the bext known one.
There's the geomagnetic North Pole which is up in the stratosphere and is where the Earth's magnetic fields meet,

There's the magnetic North Pole which marks the northenmost point of the Earth's magnetic fields. That's the one which compasses use to point to the north. It's also used for all navigation devices including modern smartphones.

It's moving. Used to be near the geographic North Pole. It's moving towards Siberia.

Navigation devices do get adjusted for this. Clearly, that's not possible for the traditional compass. So if you use one to walk straight north and keep on going you'll land up in Siberia

If you were at the magnetic North Pole, the compass needle would just point anywhere,

Velvet, I'm assuming that as it's a Greek style yogurt, the advert is supposed to represent the original Olympics.
If that's supposed to be Mount Olympia I doubt if it is so that could be another error but wasn't one of my five.

Two of my errors relate to that king/emperor. You could be right in him being Roman rather then Greek but that wasn't in my 5 errors.

I suspect there are lots of errors, it was just 5 that I spotted.

Good morning gorgeous people and happy Super Full Moon day it should be visable tonight so we can enjoy the scenery

how are you all?
I’ve been busy planting vegetable seeds, which were gifts at Xmas, cooking and painting my utility room! It now looks fresh and fabulous again

El, thank you for the HMRC Info, that’s really helpful I know I have a government gateway ID but I’m not sure I remember it. I think my phone has it automatically saved for me though

Good morning everyone

Sunny start to the day here. We may get showers later though

First lot of washing on the line. Second lot in the washer

Sweet, I hope you and Miss Bramble are okay πŸΎπŸΎ

Velvet, good morning to you and your feathered family

Squiggle, I hope you get sunshine

Yogi, I hope you had a good nights sleep

Have a great day everyone and stay safe

The parent companies of Virgin Media (Liberty Global, a US company) and O2 (Telefonica, a Spanish company) have announced that they have agreed to merge the two. Virgin Media retains the broadband and television, O2 gets the mobile and landline phones apparently. Not sure about which gets the landline section though as splitting that from broadband doesn't make sense.

Good morning everyone

Another dry and bright morning.🌞

I’m glad you got some sunshine yesterday, Squiggle

That would have been a noisy wake up call, Velvet  I’m glad the magpie can’t get into the starling’s nest.

Summer, well done on your painting and planting, it’s good to keep occupied

Enjoy your sunshine, El. Do you sit out in the garden?
I’m not allowed to sit in the sun but we have a table and chairs with a huge parasol so I can sit in the shade.

Moonie, I hope you have some sun today and can get your washing on the line.

Final 🐜 update (unless they reappear): no sign of the little beasties.

Have a good day and stay safe, everyone

Edit: you posted while I was typing, Moonie - good to hear your washing is already on the line
