A huge male fox with its breakfast in its mouth, waking down the garden path
It went through our fence, stopped, look up our neighbours garden, when to their hurdle fence, crouched, bounded up and over it. Up the next doors garden and disappeared. It was absolutely gorgeous with its long fur and lovely long bushy tail
Made for a great start to the day. Itâs a pity I didnât have time to video it as the whole thing only lasted 30 seconds or so
Thatâs fabulous, Moonie. I love foxes
I really was gobsmacked Yogi
We've got loads. SIx foot fence no probs.
Do they bring their cubs?
They make such a weird noise. Not exactly smaller but maybe younger.
I have fox envy
and me
night yogi moonsie velvetsummer if you pop in
Good morning everyone it's a nice bright morning. What a wonderful sight Moonie.
I am recording The Court Jester as well. I've got the DVD but it's good to have it on the Sky box. Such a funny film, Danny Kaye was so talented. Another film I've got on there is Summertime with Katherine Hepburn and Rossano Brazzi, I think David Lean said it was his favourite of all his films.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Bright and settled weather here, may have no rain this week.
Years ago when I was the church treasurer I would have a meeting with the vicar in the vicarage after the service. One Sunday he told me that his favourite film was "The Court Jester". So the following Sunday I gave him a DVD of the film I had bought during the week.
Velvet, "Mr Deeds goes to Town" is a great film I'm referring to the original version directed by Frank Capra with Gary Cooper as Longfellow Deeds rather than the Adam Sandler remake "Mr Deeds" which I've never seen.
Squiggle, you are correct David Lean is said to have regarded "Summertime" as his favourite of his own films. It's a very good film though one of his less known films. It's an important film in his career as it marks the transition from his British films (which ended with his previous film "Hobson's Choice") and his international epics (which started with his next film "The Bridge on the River Kwai").
I hope everyone has a good day

It was indeed squiggle
Adam Sandler and all the rest of them are no go areas El. What happened to Hollywood?
Have a good day all, and as you say the positives are out there Yogi
Good morning Iâm having breakfast outside and itâs lovely while the sun is shining but very cool when it clouds over.
how are you all? I hope it somehow feels like a Sunday for you I would usually be walking with our group today so Iâm going to do my solo walk at the usual time and then contact some members after, just to say hello and check on them.
El, thank you for the HMRC updates, yes my accountant runs my payroll for me, Iâd be too worried about accidentally making errors if I tried to do it myself.
I do miss work. I miss life in general sometimes, but I know weâre doing this for a very important reason and I know how to make the best of any situation
Good morning everyone
Itâs a sunny start to the day here if rather cool
Have a good day but a always, stay safe
Velvet, I don't think I've ever seen an Adam Sandler film. I see virtually no modern "comedy" films. I did watch "It Could Happen to You" on television years ago. That was made in 1994 and had Nicolas Cage and Bridget Fonda in. Quite a good film and, although not as good as Frank Capra films, was obviously influenced by them.
Thanks Summer
It's going to be an extremely busy day for your accountant and others tomorrow. The job retentions scheme is due to go live then but I don't know the time and it's not yet available to look at. HMRC could have done a video clip on their Youtube channel for people to watch so that they could familiarise themselves with how to access the portal and use it. But they haven't. They've got clips as to how the scheme works but text only rather than how to use the portal.
Good morning everyone
Overnight frost and now dry and sunny.
Squiggle, I agree about Danny Kayeâs talent.
El, Iâve seen Hobsonâs Choice a few times - MrY likes it.
Summer, enjoy your walk, and your virtual/phone catch up with your walking friends
Moonie, be sure to let us know if your fox returns
Have a good day and stay safe, everyone

Hi Sweet and Miss Bramble
All okay here fankoo
Enjoy your walk but stay safe
Yogi, I've seen "Hobson's Choice" a few times as well and rewatched it not that long ago. It was John Mills's favourite film.
An intriguing double bill would be that film and the John Mills version of "The History of Mr Polly" (1949). THOMP wasn't a David Lean film and it's not as good as "Hobson's Choice". Different writers and characters but one could see THOMP being set some years later after "Hobson's Choice" but replacing Mr Polly with Mr Hobson. If you were familiar with THOMP you might see how that would have worked.
For those of you who remember the television series Van Der Valk (Barry Foster) may be interested in this. ITV have a new series starting next Sunday of three two hour episodes. This time the character is played by Marc Warren. Episodes written by Chris Murray who has written episodes of Agatha Raisin, Midsomer Murders and also one of the Lewis two parters.
One of the other characters is played by Maimie McCoy who was Milady in the BBC's The Musketeers.
Just don't expect to hear the famous theme music though.
Moonie, I'm glad that your washing is cooking well
I hope it tastes nice
Incidentally that shoe was made out of liquorice. Chaplin had to have many takes of that scene (apparently 63 times) that he had so much sugar that he was taken to hospital with insulin shock.
Good knowledge/trivia El
I'd like to see you Millionaire.
There are different interpretations of millionaire though.
Velvet, although I could do quite well on classic films on something like Millionaire I would really struggle with many other areas - pop music, soaps, things like who is married to some footballer, for instance.

Me, Yogi, squiggs, Moons, Ros and Sweet would be in the audience El. It would be like a cold outbreak.
I watch University Challenge. Last Monday's (second semi-final) included this set of bonus questions, all on the films of Audrey Hepburn.
1 - Hepburn won the Best Actress Academy Award for her performance as Princess Ann in which comedy of 1953, directed by William Wyler? (they got that one)
2 - Also featuring Cary Grant and Walter Matthau, which film of 1963 stars Hepburn as Regina Lampert? It opens in an alpine ski resort. (they passed on that one)
3 - And finally, which film of 1967 stars Hepburn and Albert Finney as a married couple re-examining their relationship while travelling in the south of France? (they passed on that one as well).
I had no difficulty in answering all three questions though would have struggled to name the characters she played in those films if that had been the question. That was the only set of questions I got.
Some of you will get the first two questions, though the third is tougher.
Incidentally, Alberto De Rossi was the make up artist on those three films, the only other person involved besides Audrey Hepburn. That really would be a million pound question and, no, I did not know that until just now

I might give it a go. I like Marc Warren and love Midsomer Murders and Lewis. Wasnât keen on the Agatha Raisin series, I felt that Ashley Jensen was miscast.

I think the first one is Roman Holiday and the second one is Charade.
I have seen the third film but canât remember the title.
I like Audrey Hepburn films and think she was a classy lady.
