They just miss the point don't they?  The whole point of the novel is that she is amoral and in the end she is the biggest loser.

Your brekkie looks delicious Summer thank you

Al Murray who is regarded as a comedian by some (not by me though) is the great-great-great grandson of William Makepeace Thackeray, the writer of Vanity Fair.

Its an interesting piece of info EL but I don't think any of my lot would know the answer, thanks for thinking of it though. (I don't think he's funny either )

Hello Yogi    It did indeed on this occsion.

Although I don't post here very much I do like to visit you because it is always, warm, friendly, comfortable, and people show concern for each other   - therefore it makes me feel good.

I thought this would make a lovely memory for the Buddies

I agree, I had a wander through some of brisket's threads today (having a search for Dame Ann's query) and it was lovely.  We never found the thread that she wanted but it was so lovely to go back through.

Signing off now, speak to you all tomorrow.

Good morning everyone.    Hope you are all well.  Had a very busy weekend celebrating Father's Day and our grandson's 6th birthday with a barbecue yesterday.  We changed the day from Saturday to Sunday but it still rained a couple of times!!

With any luck No.1 son will either shortly be coming out of theatre, or in recovery already, following his gallbladder operation.  He was first on the list and due in theatre around 8.30 am.  I will be glad when I hear from him that all is done and dusted.

Hope all goes well with your son's visit to the hospital this morning Skylark.  Loved the quote from Brisket about our thread.  Everything he said is so true.  This is a nice place to visit.

I also love all the flower avaters but do miss your "usual" ones.  I didn't need to change mine.

Good morning everyone, a bit cloudy here (no mackerels though ) much much better than the original forecast though (the weather forecaster on the radio sounded a bit sheepish when asked about it, the second time they have got it completely wrong in 4 days).

Best wishes for your son Joyron and yours Skylark, woo hoo Summer countdown to holiday starts.

I am sure that brisket would be thrilled to know that we are all remembering him with such affection.

Have a good day

It was very hard to choose from the many available, I decided on mine because it moves (or it's supposed to!) I love the moving avi's Yogi, I'm going to Italy my SIL is getting married in Tuscany They've requested apple store vouchers as wedding gifts (they've been together 14 years) and I've just discovered you can't buy them online going to have to drive up to the apple store, although I can combine it with a mission to buy advanced tickets to Harry potter *crosses fingers*

Afternoon everyone.    Have not spoken to No.1 son yet but have rec eived a text message to say that all went well and he feels okay.  Will speak to him later.

All this talk about holidays make me wish I was heading away on a cruise again this year.  Instead I will be entertaining my penfriend and her husband for a couple of weeks in September.  Lots of running around I'm sure.  I will need a break away after that just to get some rest!!

Joyron

Hi everyone x
Hope your son is well this evening Joyron x
Son is away out to say bye to his friends, some are going off to Magaluf tomorrow, hope they behave themselves! I told him not to be too upset they could well be on the next plane home  !
I will let him go next year, when he is 18. I am not his favourite person at the moment as you can guess !

Good morning everyone, quite a grey morning.

Remembering you brisket, today especially

Softly the leaves of memory fall.
Gently we gather, treasure them all,
Some may forget now that you are gone,
We will remember no matter how long.
