This poem was included at the end of the daily service on Radio 4 on Good Friday.

On the day of Good Friday my true love gave to me

His own self, upon a bare tree.

On Saturday that followed, my true love gave to me

A rest after pain, and his own self upon a bare tree.

On the first day of Easter my true love gave to me

Life, new life, rest after pain and his own self upon a bare tree.

All the days after Easter my true love gives to me

Grace for my living, joy in my giving, comfort in sorrow,

Strength for tomorrow, love without end, his risen light

New life, rest after pain, and his own self

Upon a bare tree.

What stupidity, a complete idiot!

Good morning everyone it's a little cloudy this morning. I haven't seen the weather forecast but it's a bit breezy too so I wonder if we're going to get some rain.

Enjoy your day everyone

Hope all are safe, well and glass half full

Nice piece El. Unaccompanied choral always hits the spot with me. Likewise Gregorian chant. Can't describe it. Goes right into your bones and soul. Ethereal.

Have a good day all

Velvet, I mentioned this a couple of days ago but if you didn't see it yesterday's Tenebrae programme is something you would like - unaccompanied choral and quite Gregorian:

Any of you remember these? We used to have a box at Christmas when I was a child but they are long gone.

BATgers and Chinese?

I'm surprised you're here to tell the tale El.

And nope

Actually Batgers were a confectionery company in East London which started in 1748 and by the early 20th century had become one of the largest makers of hams and confectionery in the country. They were eventually taken over and those Chinese figs ceased to be made in 2000.

Good morning everyone it's a nice bright morning. Lovely Northern Lights EL. Dad always brought Moroccan dates at Christmas not Batgers Chinese Figs, although for some reason that box looks familiar. I wonder did Batgers make crystallised ginger?

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone

There was a frost when I got up at 5.30am. Sunny intervals and moderate breeze are forecast.

El, we never had those figs but mum always bought dates at Christmas.
Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone

A sunny cold start here.

Squiggle and Yogi, we also had dates at Christmas as well

I think my mother got some crystallised ginger as well but that was just for her and my father. I associate that octagonal box with Turkish Delights.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning cool but sunny here,   I think it’s going to be a nice day for cutting the grass

How are you all?
I’ve been doing yoga on you tube every day, and last night I cooked a meal from scratch! It’s nice to find silver linings, especially when spirits are lower. Thank goodness for the lighter days, better weather and fresh air!

Hope all are ticking over - all we can do. Can see this lasting well into summer if not beyond. Think Spain and Italy might have gone too soon even though it's a partial ease up. We'll see.

Good to see you Sweet. Bramble must be a godsend in the current situation. Another beating heart to keep you company and keep you entertained. Never seen so many new dogwalkers round here - people seem to be venturing further.

Stay strong, stay commited all and take no chances
